| He was Vicoria's preferred keeper in ODD & T20 games. I think he want's to play the 4 day games and knows that he can't get past Wade at present. He feels he can get past the guy in NSW (Smith) and from there give it his best shot. |

Oh, yeah, for sure. As I said, he should do what he thinks is right by him and his career. My point was, though, that I doubt he has the talent to get a gig for Australia.
It comes with the choice of job, only 1 keeper can play at a time, and once selected, most keep it for a while.
Getting a run for the Aussies requires you to be the best of a very good bunch - Crosthwaite is not that.
Good on him for making the move though, no point sitting in grade cricket and wondering what could've been! |

If I gave you the impression that he thought he would be in the green and gold any time soon - then I haven't explained it well at all.
Yes Manou is the number 2 now - and rightly so.
But you've gotta have a plan to succeed and that's how he sees it. You can't fault the guy for trying can you? |

If he can't get ahead of Wade in Victoria, what chance does he seriously have of becoming Australia's second choice gloveman?
Right now, Manu is in England as the back up, Paine is in Darwin with Aus A, Wade is, arguably, the most promising keeper in the country and Hartley has huge wraps on him by many Sheild players (in and out of QLD).
Adam should do what he thinks is best, but I can't see him wearing green and gold any time soon. |

I don't know about that, sounds like sour grapes to me.
Anyway - They interviewed Adam on SEN this morning. The consensus was that he went to NSW as a means to playing Shield cricket and because he saw that state as having the weakest wicketkeeper, thus giving him more of a chance of playing in the 4 day games (Haddin excluded).
Once the objective of earning a "Baggy Blue" was achieved (along with the Baggy Green in the brown paper bag of course) he would work towards becoming the country's Number 2 wicketkeeper with a longer term ambition of playing for Australia. |

ADAM Crosthwaite has turned his back on a one-year contract with Victoria.
By doing so, Crosthwaite also snubbed his nose at the chance to play in the $9 million Champions Trophy tournament in India later in October to pursue his dream of one day representing Australia.
The wicketkeeper will move to Sydney to captain grade club Manly in a bid to revive his first-class career after losing his place in the Victorian team to Matthew Wade.
Although he was still playing one-day and Twenty20 for the Bushrangers, Crosthwaite, 24, has put the hope of playing first-class cricket ahead of all else.
He will have to beat Daniel Smith, Peter Neville and his own younger brother James, who has a rookie contract with New South Wales, to claim the Blues No. 2 keeper's spot behind Brad Haddin. |
