<<<All in all, Vaughan was a great player until his knees started to fall apart. His coverdrive will still be in the coaching vidoes in a hundred years time. His running between the wickets won't.>>>
------------------------- ------------------------- ----------
His cover drive compared to that of David Gower while still somewhat fluid was positively rusty.
Outside of Vaughans first tour out here i never paid too much attention to his efforts. I always found him too easily morphed into the general goings on - Ashes victory aside - but i choose to repress that memory most of the time.
Good luck to the man i say, the guy deserves his place of respect in English cricket. |

Gillespie puts Vaughan in amongst Brian Lara, Sachin Tendulkar and V.V.S. Laxman,..That is laughable..
With delirious claims like that its now clearer than ever why Gillespie was dropped. |

So what. Of course he says that. He's being polite.
To say that Vaughan is the best post war captain is utter rubbish and disrespects the likes of Hammond, Hutton and Illingworth.
Vaughan did his level best to avoid playing Australia again and in the end even the poor old poms had had enough of his antics. |

"English cricket have never had a more divisive leader."
what about KP..? You don't have to go too far back to find one more divisive.
His predecessor also had a sizable collection of enemies.
Vaughan had enemies here in Oz, for obvious reasons, but none in England.
All in all, Vaughan was a great player until his knees started to fall apart. His coverdrive will still be in the coaching vidoes in a hundred years time. His running between the wickets won't. |

GILLESPIE SAYS OF VAUGHAN
"He has a lot of experience winning games of cricket against Australia, he is a match-winner and a guy Australia does respect. We have always respected our opponents, but there are certain players who demand a little bit extra, maybe because they tend to lift against you, and I tend to put guys like Brian Lara, Sachin Tendulkar and V.V.S. Laxman, and I would put Michael Vaughan in amongst those guys |

It's over.
He's gone.
Let it go Kip, no-one gives a monkey's toss.
English cricket have never had a more divisive leader.
Goodbye, farewell and Good riddance. |

"The best post war captain"
Which war was that? The gulf war?
This thread is either a wind up or the guy who posted it is totally gray.
In the context of world cricket he is just another silver spoon pom without much ability. |
