Outside of Vaughans first tour out here i never paid too much attention to his efforts. I always found him too easily morphed into the general goings on - Ashes victory aside - but i choose to repress that memory most of the time. Good luck to the man i say, the guy deserves his place of respect in English cricket. |

| So what. Of course he says that. He's being polite. To say that Vaughan is the best post war captain is utter rubbish and disrespects the likes of Hammond, Hutton and Illingworth. Vaughan did his level best to avoid playing Australia again and in the end even the poor old poms had had enough of his antics. |

Vaughan had enemies here in Oz, for obvious reasons, but none in England. All in all, Vaughan was a great player until his knees started to fall apart.
