Re:Australia Vs England Lion (PREVIEW)
English bowling attack for the first test:
Broad, Anderson, Harmy, Swann, Flintoff.
=============
Hmm dunno about Harmi, he's let England down too many times.
If it's 4 plus 1 attack , I reckon Flintoff, Anderson, Broad, Sidebottom , Swann
If it's 3 plus 2 , Flintoff, Anderson, Broad, Swann, Panesar.
Whatever you think about Bopara, he'll be a lot more exciting to watch than Dinger |

bopara does look a decent batsman.
but coping with the pressure of an ashes battle, when the
heat is really on.
will be interesting to watch. |

I agree, Bopara looks a good player. I watched him against the Windies and he looks to be the type of batsmen that could either play expansive strokes and score quickly, or tighten up and play solid, depending on what is required.
We need to get on top of him early in the series, otherwise they could regularly get to 1 or 2 for 250. |

Strange as it may sound, im quite looking forward to seeing how Bopara goes.
He seems to have a level head and a good temperament for the spot without being too conservative. |

Agree Loki.
Strauss, Cook, Bopara - 3 very good players at the top for England. But if they get knocked over cheaply, Collingwood, KP and Fred, on form, look to be vulnerable.
Their tail is much longer than ours too.
As I said yesterday, I don't expect any Aussie batsmen to score consistent runs throughout the series, but 2 an innings will.
If we can score 375+ when we bat, we should take a lead into the second innings more often than not. |

Which puts a lot of emphasis on Flintoff and to a lesser extent Broad, to score decent runs.
Past 3 the English more than a tad fragile in my book. |

English bowling attack for the first test:
Broad, Anderson, Harmy, Swann, Flintoff.
I can't see them leaving the big fella out of the team now, not that I think it is in their best interests!
Right, now for the Aussies. Every batsmen has made a 70+ score at least once in the 2 tour games - so that is a good sign.
Here is the side the will pick, IMO (not the side I want picked though).
Hughes
Katich
Ponting
Hussey
Clarke
North
Haddin
Johnson
Lee
Siddle
Clark |

Who was calling for Ronnie over North?
Guess thats put to rest now.
Im inclined to agree with nye re;Hughes.
If he makes the decision to use the pull shot (and he owns a strong one too) it'll somewhat negate whatever this delusion Harmison has created about him.
Dont get me wrong, Harmison bowled well but Hughes didnt either bother about rocking back. My only concern is the confidence it will give the Poms - false or not.
Seems to me that his shot selection was almost premeditated, that'd hed almost gone out knowing he was gonna cop a few and was prepared to wear them rather than unleash early in the innings.
I wouldnt be worried at all about a couple of dismissals from Harmison. |

nye I agree but there are too many variables to consider also.
But some bowlers are used fare more than they should be and can be burnt out by the captain over using them because they are economical or are getting wickets. |
