Hilfy is Punters second cousin, Punter is the nephew of Greg Campbell too.
I know, doesn't help the inbred stereotypes, but when you have a state of half a million, and with sporting ability being largely genetic, it makes sense that there will be a few rellies in the mix. I think Alistair Lynch may be a Ponting relation too - can't be 100% sure though. |

Anthony Mundine was the black Bradman. I am sure he is on record somewhere as saying that .

I don't know how much truth there is in the Langer story. Comeback, yeah probably, demand captaincy - doubt it.
I think QLD should look to get Duminy, he was a hit here last summer, I'm sure the crowds would like to see him again. |

Love to see Matt Hayden make a comeback and picked for the Qld 20/20 team.
WA wanted Gilly , but that must have fallen through???
Rumour was Langer was making a comeback for the first class team, but demanded the captaincy.... must have been told where to go. |

| Are NSW going to have McCallum again? If so, that just leaves QLD and SA to make the call on an import doesn't it? Ironic really, they are the 2 states that most loved an import in the Sheffield Shield. |

Tassie have anounced the signing of Sri Lankan quick Lasith Malinga for the T20 series this year.
Seems a bit strange that a state with a bowling lineup like Tassie, would go for a bowler to import for the big bash - maybe they are smart enough to not risk their key men for the exhibition stuff?!
Either way, it should be interesting to see him, Bravo and Gayle in action - even if it is just for a laugh. |

Not a bad squad really.
When you consider Ponting, Hilfenhaus, Geeves and Krejza have all played for Australia in the past 12 months, while Bailey, Paine, Butterworth, Dighton and Doherty have all been with Australia A in that period.
Good to see Marsh stay on as a player, despite handing the captaincy to Bailey. Paine given the VC role is a surprise though, but good on him!
Again, batting will be the key. The side has some top batsmen, but none are consistent run makers. I don't expect a lot from Cowan, though he will make some runs at some stage.
If Birt, Bailey, Marsh, Paine and Butterworth can make regular scores, I think Hilfy, Geeves, Denton, Krejza, Drew, Griffith, Doherty and Butterworth will have the ability to snare enough wins to get the boys some success. |

PKF Tasmanian Tigers 2009-10 squad announced
30/06/2009
The Tasmanian Cricket Association has today announced its PKF Tasmanian Tigers list of contracted players for the 2009/10 season.
The Tasmanian line-up consists of 19 senior contracted players and six rookies, with two Cricket Australia contracts amongst the squad.
New faces to join the PKF Tasmanian Tigers are three recruits from New South Wales and recent Australian under-19 representative, wicket-keeper/batsman Tom Triffitt, who played 2nd XI cricket for Tasmania last season.
27-year-old batsman Ed Cowan relocated to Tasmania in May and has played 25 first-class matches for New South Wales with a high score of 137. He is joined by two talented News South Wales Grade players, fast bowler Adam Maher (full contract) and 21-year-old bowling all-rounder Matthew Day who will join the rookie list.
The PKF Tasmanian Tigers rookie list has gained 18-year-old Tasmanian Youth Cricket Pathway product Tom Triffitt, with 2008-09 debutant and all-rounder James Faulkner lifted to a full contract along with top-order batsman Jonathan Wells who also made his first-class debut last season.
Departures from the 2008/09 PKF Tasmanian Tigers contract list are Chris Duval (to South Australia) and David Dawson, Mark Divin and Dane Anderson who have all been de-listed.
PKF Tasmanian Tigers' Coach Tim Coyle said the squad for 2009-10 has considerable potential with a good mix of youth and experience.
"We are very pleased with our new inclusions to the PKF Tasmanian Tigers squad and with the pre-season training schedule in full swing the players are looking fitter than ever in preparation for 2009-10," Coyle said.
