| Molly Meldrum could open the innings as he loves nothing more than getting down the southern end to face a couple of balls. |

You guys are funny!
Me as opener? I would sh1t myself so much that the bowlers from that end would slip and hurt themselves. Hahahaha
But I guess you already know that and is why you would have me as opener. I would have Delvine Delahney as the cheer girl squad leader. |

I may be wrong, but I think Strop has retired. |

Oh i 'comprende' alright stewart, no dramas there. I dont however see any need to usurp team stability by uprooting the Cpt & VCpt.
This dodgy format might be here to stay but its existence and nature is secondary to that of test cricket.
You want to deal with facts, alright;
Fact - Ponting & Clarke are going nowhere - now or in the near future. Their positions and roles within the team structure are set in concrete at this point. We can agree withem being there or not but take it as law that theyre not going anywhere regarding the Ashes or the up coming Oz summer. |

| I would have Haddin open the batting with Warner as he has shown that he has that ability with the mindset in this form of the game. |

Exactly and well worded sushi.
To excell in this form of the game we require big hitters just like Gayle and Fletcher did.
Full credit to D.Warner on his innings and yes B.Haddin played some very delicate shots for boundaries. But seriously this single here & there is 50 over game stuff.
Like you say sushi we need players of this type of speciality and a coach for this type of game. |

In my opinion, the whole selection process for this 20/20 world cup has been an absolute farce.
For one, Lee is only in the team to give him some "warm-up" overs before the "big stuff" starts next month.
What has happened to the "Aussie Spirit" of doing our absolute best to be the best, this includes selecting the best possible team to win.
Hate it or love it, the 20/20 is a form of cricket that is here to stay, and it is a specialized form of the game in which CA has to pick specialized players if we are to have success.
Hope the team we have at the moment pull their finger out in this tournament, but the performance that I saw on Saturday night could not be rated even as mediocre, it was plain awful! |

In this form of the game that is only played for what 10 weeks of the year there is no real presure on them to perform day in & day out, they are not away from their beloved families for great lengths of time on tour. The presure from the test coach is not there and you can have the likes of Lehman as coach to bring these younger talents through while gaining valuable experience from legends like Warney, Gillie, McGrath, Haydos & others.
This allows the test players more time off and more time to concentrate on the real game at hand. |

| Yr on the right path - BUT how do we get rid of the two pompus @#$^H*&^% Clarke and Ponting, did you hear his comments after the game - Waugh, Border etc would never ever have spoken like that, these think that If they do ok and are in the team and earning big bucks nothing else matters |

sneaky I have to agree with you. Mr Ricky finger Pointing FAILED to deliver from his high moral horse. As for dingle/bingle he is just as pompus. These two have ruined the tradition of men only in the dressing rooms and that is why there is so much tension in the team.
Gillie (Captain), Warney (V/C), Haydos, Symmo & Lehman (Coach) can all bring so much experience to a young team that could be set for the future of the 50 over game which could then lead them into the real form of the game. Save the more experienced players for the test matches and don't risk injury to them in these $$$$$ earning circusses.
adrain, mon, chucker and many others who I am too ignorant to name please before you bombard me with your abuse for these thoughts I ask that you consider this.
1. This type of hit&giggle game will entice the younger guys to the game.
2. C.A can then choose from these players the ones that have the ability and talent to advance to real cricket. As I am sure you all agree once you have played the game at high levels you will not change sports.
3. Having these older experienced legendary players in the team giving guidance to the younger players and supporting them to play the game the best way they can will only improve the game.
Yes I can see a lot of potential risks here by the big $$$$ offered to players and the mindset of talented fools like Gayle. Unfortunately this form of the game is going to be here for a long time. |

| LokiKane, technically your correct however, Ponting, Clarke, The two Husseys (completely useless) Watson, Bracken, are not doing much CONSISTENTLY, Ponting I said 5 yeras back is a bad leader, leaders DON'T have to perform ( look at Waugh, Border, Bob Simpson) Leaders have the ability to get the team to act like a tema , the TEAM performs the team WINS - Comprende |
