| Fair comment Doug but test matches is what cricket is all about. These abbreviated forms of the game certainly do satisfy a large audience, but, afterall they are only popgun cricket. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| You know, I like all forms of Cricket. I think those who think ODI or T20 will disapear are sadly mistaken. Both forms have a growing fan base and will not only survive but also flourish. It takes skill to play at the top level in both these forms. ODI has changed and is now becoming more strategic, and i am sure T20 will find it's own way too. Meanwhile T20 is resulting in some very exciting matches and I for 1 am looking forward to watching as many matches as possible. I am and will enjoy this WC. |

| well because of the nature of the format... its much easier for upsets to occur in T/20.... and as the IPL showed us its virtually impossible for a team to dominate for too long..... Having said that given England's fondness for being the clowns of international cricket .. this result shouldn't be that big a shock..... |

| Sorry everyone, but I have to disagree. This format is an utter farce. Why don't they just toss the coin, and whoever wins that can be declared the winner of the match? Everyone can have a bet on the outcome of the coin toss, and that should satisfy the requirements for the main attraction of T20 cricket. It's a vehicle for gambling, and nothing more. |

| To look at a positive though, hopefully by embracing T20 and growing their cricket to a competitive level, they identify Test cricket as the obvious pinnacle - and focus their attention to growing the game further so that they may one day play/win test cricket. Time will tell. |

Which could create a Fiji/Rugby 7's scenario. For a while there the Fijians were untouchable at the 7's game - theyre still up there but the rest of the major Nations have caught up. Still, they pull in the crowds and are still a major 7's force. Prior to the introduction of the 7's, they we merely a hard nosed entertaining team with some potential. T20 could viably be the same for sides like the Dutch, the Canadians, Kenyans......the undoubted minnows. One bit of success and they could embrace and grow around it. |

| We've got India embracing this new game, big time. We've got the Windies captain saying he would rather play it instead of Test cricket, and we have 'minnow' nations in with a much better chance of a win or two over the 'big boys'. I can, unfortunately, see the entire dynamic of world cricket changing rapidly. Though I wouldn't object to India forcing the ICC to rethink the future tours program by removing the compulsory home and away test and ODI schedule. That way, those that want the cheap thrills and quick cash of T20 can play it as much as they like. The Aussies, Kiwis, English and Sth Africans (maybe Sri Lanka too) can play each other as often as they like in the real game - would be interesting too! I'd love to see 5 test series against Sth Africa. Plus, it would free up a lot of the calendar to allow Aussie players to play more state cricket! Win/Win I think! |

| I have to say it was a very entertaining game. Stuart broad though missed 3 run outs and a catch and then gave the game away all in the last over. I hate to say it but if he had a big bet on this he certainly made sure he cashed in. |
