'Good Golly Miss Molly' becomes 'Goodness gracious now Miss Molly'.

'Come as you are' becomes 'Thankyou come again'

Is it true that to gain English citizenship one of the requirements is you need to be able to play at least 3 Indian classics on the sitar?

"I think most of the 'double standards' on here (from both sides might I add) are tounge in cheek"

I will readily admit to taking a totally double standard line on arguments. I will continue to do so.
For instance I think its disgraceful Symonds doesn't play for England but totally support KP playing for us.

Tikka Masala - an Indian dish adjusted for us because the English like things "mild"!

I used to go to university in Birmingham. Bristol Road is known as the street of 1,000 curry houses. You've never seen anything like it.

Tikka Masala, I've tried - though I cannot say for sure if it is the same as what is made in "Berming'em".

I love that several well known 'Indian' curries are actually English in creation, and that I can't convince my English mates at 3am that they won't find a curry place for a feed! I tell them, "lads, it's Maccas or a kebab around here - and I wouldn't recomend either! :P

I don't think Roy could've made that big of an impact in the ashes, personally. He'll be dangerous in the T20 demi-world cup though.

Mip, I've got a few English mates that bring the stuff back when they go back 'home'. I've tried it, can't stomach it I'm afraid.

But, like Vegemite, Kimchi, Haggis and many other foods of the ilk, it is an acquired taste - you like it if you grow up eating it, you hate it if you don't.

You should try that traditional Birmingham dish

Symonds isn't really an issue for the Ashes though is he?

Personally I think that's an error, he's well worth a place in their side in my opinion.

However, we have a fella at our work who has played for the Aussies (many years ago) and is pretty good mates with Boof Lehman and Gillespie. I have heard a few stories about Symonds from him that makes me wonder how he stayed in the side as long as he did though!!!!

WP, I did say I don't have a problem with KP.

Symonds didn't need a visa because he was born in England - nobody has denied that! But to be in this country for almost his entire life, he is Australan through and through - he even has the accent!

I think most of the 'double standards' on here (from both sides might I add) are tounge in cheek. Sure, there are some complete morons on here that can't think outside their own wrist, but most are good natured and like to have a laugh. And if you are going to get pi55ed off at the Aussies, just read a lot of what the English post too - it is a 2 way street.

As for KP being a victim, a lot of Sth Africans will disagree there. His claims of not being able to play due to the quota system have been refuted by a lot - he just had a sulk and a whinge. If he was a fighter, he'd be batting at 5 for the best team in the world right now.

But, again, I don't care that he plays for England - and I think he will give us a lot of trouble in the Ashes, the boy can bat!

KP was the victim of a ridiculous selection policy in Natal.
I don't blame him for one minute the action that he took.

Nye; Kp's mother is English, which is how he got accelerated qualification for England. Let's not forget that he had to spend over 3 years in county cricket before he was eligible for England consideration.
One could argue that he was as much a victim of the apartheid regime as were Robin Smith, Allen Lamb, Kepler(which green and gold) Wessels, and Mike Proctor (what a farken waste of a great talent that was)KP would not have been selected for SA because of the quota system post apartheid. The selectors actually told him that. Let's also consider that he was not assured of an England slot even when he'd qualified for consideration.
I must admit I get very p1ssed off with the attitude of some Australians on here, that 2nd ,3rd or 4th generation Asian immigrants to the UK are any different to similar European immigrants to Australia. This smacks of racism, bigotry, and hypocrisy.

Just to add to the point - when he played for Gloucestershire how come Symonds didn't have a visa.

Clue - Australians need a visa to work in the UK. Symonds did not. Why is that?

Matt Dunning, the useless fat b'stard for the Wallabies, was born in Canada, Freddie Mercury (the Michael Vaughan of his time) was born in friggin Zanzibar to Persian parents. Who gives a FARK?

Symonds was barely walking when he came to Australia, he is as Aussie as anyone in this country - regardless of birth certificate.

KP, on the other hand, was born, raised, taught cricket etc in Sth Africa. He was an adult when he had a sulk and left for an easier team to get into.

BUT, I have no problem with it - Australia had Keppler Wessels and I'd gladly take the next Sachin Tendulkar or Brian Lara if they chose to come to Australia!

Yes and where was your captain, Andrew Strauss, born???
Moron. IF Symonds is not a Queenslander, then Strauss is not a pom.

Fess up guys.....which ones of the Australian contingent on here has actually tried Marmite. NOT the Marmite you buy here (cos its made here and the Asutralians somehow can't follow the simple recipe!!) but the stuff actually made in England and bought here.

Lets me guess 10% of ya.

So all shut up until ypou have tried the real stuff !!!

And for the record I love the both. Vegimite is a bit girly but that's ok it appeals to my femine side.

Marmite puts hairs on ya bollox. So its obvious Adrian and Jism have never had any.

I couldn't give a monkeys if Andrew Symonds spends another 80 years in Queensland.

He's born 70 miles from my hometown! Hardly a dyed in the wool Aussie!!
In fact last time I recall he came to Bristol he went out on the piss and turned up boozed at 10am for the bus to the one dayer?!
