Australia cannot win from here even if Graeme Smith tied one arm behind his back."

| He has been safely dismissed from the squad & sent back home to NZSW - no danger of him playing now. |

| So he has played his first ODI in 5 years and 8 months - will he play another? For sake of Australia I am hoping not. |

Ok - Minimum overs left today = 61.
Australia lead by 237 and are scoring at a RR of 3.5 / over.
This means that we should have lead of 450 at stumps.
Declare at let Hauritz bowl us to victory? |

How many runs are needed to avoid Hauritz bowling SA to victory?
We would already have had an extra 13 runs if it wasn't for Hauritz' last over in last night. |

The SCG is famous for assisting any bowler who is considered a spinner....
Every spinner there has got wickets...
Hauritz....hang your head in shame. |

| I wouldn't call Hauritz going at 3 runs an over bowling easy beats - your the person who said that Krejza should be in the team & he goes for over 4 runs an over. Can't have it both ways. |

Time is running out.
Even if SA are dismissed before stumps - how many would you set SA to win?
Ricky would be barbequed if he let the South Africans chase another one down while Hauritz was bowling his easy beats. |

hvlaclav: Why not? the game is only just past the half way mark and SA are effectively 6 for and still well behind.
The pitch is breaking up, so batting will get harder. The Aussies will find it hard to bat in their second dig, and the Saffers will find it almost impossible.
I can see all 3 results still possible, but an Aussie win would have to be favourite. |

| Hauritz is probably seen as the best option while the pace attack is inexperienced. If we had some quicks that were comfortable and reliable, Krejza may be selected as his economy rate would not be as crucial. |

Brat - I don't think Ricky would have enforced follow on either.
McDonald is doing excellent job of holding up one end with economy. Huaritz was not selected to bowl anyone out - that's the point, we need bowlers who take wickets. |

Is that the prurpose of this thread? To make Hauritz bowl better?
Cut off Warne's right arm and graft it onto Hauritz's shoulder, that should make him bowl better. |
