"Vettori has his finger on the pulse."
recent headline article. Wish he had his finger on my pulse. One great spin bowler, second in the excitement factor to SKW, IMO. |

Glove wise, Haddin is sub-par. But his batting is good enough to command a place.
Could be an opening to play him as a batsmen and throw the gloves to Paine - let's see how Timmy goes in the ODIs first. |

| I'm not convinced about Haddin, but Hauritz is the best spinner in the country. |

Haddin and Hauritz deserve their place in the side - Haddin has a batting average of more than 40 and with our current fragile lineup, that's what we need at 7.
Hauritz is the best spinner in the country. Sure, he's no Warne or MacGill, but he is better than anything we had for decades before those guys. |

| No - I think they need to give a golden handshake to Lee, Clark, Haddin & Hauritz and thank them for coming. |

Hauritz was finally gaining some confidence and was starting to bowl and spin the ball quite nicely.
Then on a spinners freindly pitch they don't pick him after he had stood up and performed very well.
It will take a very strong minded individual not to have his confidence shot after that.
Australian Cricket needs new people at the top and new people in positions of authority.
They have no farking clue! |

| It was obvious from 6 months he was going to be overlooked because no one person thought he was up to the job. He kept being selected in every team but never actually playing and then when it is too lates he turns up in Ashes contest and no one thinks he should be selection and this cost Australia Ashes. |

| 10 @ 32, that's a hell of a lot better than Super Swann and Ponty Manesar managed. |

Tim Nielsen says Australia don't have a top-class spinner
By Peter Lalor
August 27, 2009 .No matter how you spin it, Nathan Hauritz is not your man, the cupboard's bare and Australia is still searching for a top-class tweaker.
Coach Tim Nielsen confirmed on Wednesday that despite having tried Beau Casson, Jason Krejza, Cameron White, Bryce McGain and Hauritz over the past 18 months, nobody had been found to permanently replace Shane Warne and Stuart MacGill.
"I think we've shown our hand there a little bit haven't we?" Nielsen said.
"We've probably shown by our selections and by the way we've tried players that we would love to have a spinner that is a natural pick and maybe that's something we'll keep considering and keep talking about."
Hauritz did not bowl badly, taking 10 wickets at 32 in the first three Tests, but was not picked for The Oval match on a pitch that cried out for a spinner.
Too late she cried as she waved her wooden leg. |

IMO, Clark and Lee can best serve us by passing on advice to the young quicks. MJ, Hilfy and Siddle could be our attack (fitness pending) for a few years.
Looking at the Aus A results of late, Bollinger and Geeves will serve well as backups if needed.
Great to see some blokes come in that can swing the ball, have massive hearts and will never back down! Look at Sids and Hilfy - a lumberjack and a brickie, exactly the sort of workmen we needed! |

| I could see Clark going well at Lord's though. Trundling in down the slope, it's McGrath all over again. |

| I'd pick Clark ahead of Lee. Siddle has surprised me a bit, not fantastic numbers but solid. Hilfy blew me away, think he might be around for a while, His action might cause a few injury problems though. |

| Clark's form in the 06/07 series is irrelevant. He has not produced that sort of form since. I'm not saying he shouldn't be in the side, I don't think he'll let anyone down, but Hussey's form in 06/07 was brilliant too - doesn't mean he's going to make a lot of runs this series. |

Should Australia include Stuart Clark at Lords in favor of Nathan Hauritz? The deck will suit Clark more than Hauritz I feel.
He spins is further than Hauritz dose.Maybe an option methinks |
