Re:Aus V SA Reply to this message
Notice how the S/A team when faced with batsmen who are playing shots with confidence and scoring runs, that their fielding is dodgey, but a sniff and a wicket they grow beyond reason with confidence and they can reaaly apply the pressure.

Pretty darn good for a team that is by their own admissions not anywhere near their potential as a ODI side, How good are they going to be when they do reach their potential?

It is a very interesting concept, and listening briefly to what was said about the compressed timber giving the bat extra power or spring, could cause some fuddy duddy to make a stupid decision about banning it also.

Re:Aus V SA Reply to this message
You'd think it would have to mess with your thinking having a bat like that. You'd almost certainly feel obliged to use the back of the bat - even if the ball could be struck with a conventional stroke.

Re:Aus V SA Reply to this message
Warner has used the reversible bat when playing for NSW but says he still wants to become more comfortable when playing with it before using it on a consistent basis.

Re:Aus V SA Reply to this message
So what is the word on that new bat where they have pressed the back of the bat for the reverse sweep?

Are they still testing it or is it going to be allowed for use?

Re:Aus V SA Reply to this message
Yep, and notice how his run scoring and ability to belt the ball has not changed 1 iota since he was forced to change?!

The bat is only as good as the bloke using it.

Re:Aus V SA Reply to this message
The carbon fibre sticker on the back of his back was said to illegally reinforce his bat allow him added power to his shots without using a heavier bat.

Re:Aus V SA Reply to this message
What was that B/S about Ponting's bat and the carbon fibre sticker on the back of it giving him an unfair advantage or enhancement of power in his bat?

So what are they going to use for the excuse for his X fours in his first over faced against Morkel?

Re:Aus V SA Reply to this message
Interesting P/P tactics eh!

By using it now Steyn will use most of his overs and it may allow better batting in the later overs with out the added pressure of having to face the stike bowler for more than 2 or 3 overs.

Re:Aus V SA Reply to this message
Even if he's a guy who goes 80, 5, 3, 11, 120, 4, 6, 86, 0 etc, he'd be worth sticking with - the opposition will fear that each time could be THE time!

Good luck to him.

Re:Aus V SA Reply to this message
I still say that Steyn did his homework on Warner and that is why Steyn got him cheaply in the previous 2 matches. I now think that Warner has gone back to school himself and worked out a better strategy against Steyn.

Keep going you good thing.
