Re:Aus V SA Reply to this message
Not too sure about the Saffers trying to chase the world record of 454.... don't think it was that type of pitch as shown by the Aussie second innings...

and I must laugh at the media proclaiming Mitchell Johnson as the new allrounder.... he slogs most of the time and sometime it pays off and most times it doesn't...

if it required could he play a controlled innings, with precision touch and exquisite technique ala Kallis or Flintoff???

It dosn't matter if you win by an inche or a mile, a win is a win.

Well done guys, there are things that need to be worked on but for the moment enjoy your victory.

Ponting: "All three debutantes stood up. The selections have been justified, a real team effort. This team is bouncing back. Lot of different personalities in the group. We had the worst of the batting conditions in the first day but we did well. The new guys will know the words to the team song."

Johnson is the Man of the Match: "I just try and do the same thing everytime. I don't mind batting at No.8, don't mind batting at 9

Smith: "Aus performed well through the five days. We played some good cricket in the back end but credit to Australia. We know we're a lot better than how we performed over the last couple of days. We just let ourselves down."

hows about full credit to an inexperienced aussie team for applying consistent pressure to get an outstanding result Graeme????
