As I was saying notorious for big wicket losses as during a match the side was none for 12 runs and 20 minutes later they were 7 down more 12 runs.
Ab DeVilliers mentioned that he was expecting the pitch to deliver unplayable balls at any time during his innings |

| Losing 4-39 indicates a piss weak effort by the batsmen or a lively pitch, or of course, both. |

| Well done Phil Hughes, very good effort. If the pitch has genuine life in it then 400 may be enough but, the more the better. |

| Not good enough for test cricket!!!! 64 no and wickets tumbling around him and his technique is not good enough. Geez, I'd love to see him bat if he was good. |

i agree with hussey, he needs to put pride aside and realise that he is just not cutting it. Needs to bat as if he is batting for his spot. The problem is that he knows that he isnt, and i think that is why he allows this to keep happening. He is not feeling the pressure to perform right now.
I think that 450 will be what we need to reach just to put all doubt aside. However saying that, if it gets halfway through the second session and we are 400+ then it is time to declare (if we get there) |

Bad luck to North.
I wonder if it is worth moving haddin up the order to position 4th or 5th and hussey back to 7th. I say this as Brad shone as opener in the ODI's and hussey is more at home in batting down the order. |

| i reckon 400 is enough, the difference between perth and jo'burg is the perth pitch was dead while the jo'burg pitch is swinging, seaming and spinning all over the place! |

| Not big Haddin fan, but while he still in we can make 400+ with the ball doing a few tricks with the cracks think SA will be pushing shyte up hill |

what are we thinking about the position of the match now?
i dont think it has changed as we still have that massive lead. However will help take the uncertainty out of pontings mind as to when to declare. They should take a few overs to steady themselves. Then start moving toward that 500 target again. I still think they will make it |

I posted a while ago about Steve Waugh being dropped from the test side when he was out of form and he came back with a vengence in his return test he scored centuries in both innings I think.
We have the talent knocking down the door and the experienced guys who are out of form need to go back to club cricket to find their form. I do hope these two young guns fire on all cylinders for us just to prove the point |
