Re:Aus V SA Reply to this message
I posted this yesterday - "Roy is no longer considered an allrounder and that makes me wonder what is happening there that we don't know about. You don't go from being classed as an allrounder to being a straight out batsmen unless you have some other issue. Maybe that is another reason why."

Maybe this is why. It appears this injury has been around for a while, so maybe his bowling days are strictly limited from here on - like Ponting.

Yeah, first you make them bathe, then serve them cold beer and offer them a tooth brush! :)

On that note, catch you all tomorrow - I'll try not to start the day as cranky as I was this morning! (as if!!!)

Re:Aus V SA Reply to this message
A few NSWmen around these boards call Victorians 'Mexicans' so the Yank thing works there! QLDers say 'eh' at the end of their sentences, so they work as Canadians also.

That makes Tasmanians 'Cuba', but I don't think our cigars are 'presidential standard'!

Hahaha, I've got a mate from Nova Scotia and he says it is 'French Tasmania' - part of a bigger country, but treated like a different planet! He also added 'but we all know we are actually superior, so we like to be seen as different' - but I wouldn't say that about my Australian brethren! :P

Ah - okay NYE - still being new to this country it has taken me a while to understand local laws and customs.

Though the Tazzie law of allowing siblings to marry does worry me.

I'm glad to see you are trying to extend the gene Pool mix.

Re:Aus V SA Reply to this message
Hilfy is Tasmanian born and (in)bred!

Yeah, probably related hey! :P

I do know Ponting is related to former Test quick Greg Campbell (4 tests I think - incl. 89 Ashes).

I am not related (as far as I know) but with Tassie being such a small state, I do know a few of the boys. One of the State champions is married to a (hot) chick that used to babysit me when I was about 8 or 9. I have been around there for a few bbq's etc, so there is quite often a few state players there.

But living in QLD now means I get to do that less and less.

Re:Aus V SA Reply to this message
Hahaha, I keep telling you, 2 heads are better than 1! :P

I'll just clarify, as my typo has confused many (including myself). There have been numerous instances of 2 Tasmanians in the test and ODI sides. There has never been THREE.

I had though we were in for a shot with Ponting, Krejza and Hilfenhaus, but as soon as Hilfy was named, JK missed out. Geeves, Krejza and Paine are probably the only guys vying for the 3rd Tasmanian spot in the near future, I can't recall a time where there have been any real options for a third - except maybe Jamie Cox for a while there.

Anyway, it matters little WHERE a player is from, as long as they help us win tests!
