Things are starting to look a bit thin, we need to be still batting at stumps for any chance of a draw

Re:Aus V SA Reply to this message
I agree, to an extent aiki.

Yes, I also hate that guys like Hussey are having their positions questioned, despite 4 years of faultless play and only 2 tests of failure.

Hayden is different, he has not performed in about a dozen tests now - not even a 50.

I think the major difference is that Australians are used to winning, the side has won constantly, all around the world, for 2 decades.

I simply think that many of us just don't know how to handle a loss, because we don't have the experience! If we can separate the past from the present, we will be ok - kneejerk reactions won't be as common as we won't expect the new kid to be Warne, McGrath, Gilchrist or Ponting - they will be whoever they are and if they are the best we have, they will be good enough.

Gone are the days of the 3 day test wins and clea sweep series against quality opposition, the sooner we come to terms with that, the better.

Re:Aus V SA Reply to this message
"make the Ashes an exemption - always nice to have 5 chances at smashing the Poms."

I wonder why the Poms come out and have a go at you?

The fundamental difference between the Aussie supporters and the Pommie supporters is we support our team through thick and thin!
You on the other hand are calling for heads and blaming the player(s) who do not perform in a Test or two!
That being the case why not sack the lot ?
And start a new?

Personally i dont stick the boot in (much) when you are on a down!
But you do make it hard not to!
Also you always seem to use the Poms as a distraction when you are getting spanked!

Enjoy the Test Peeps!

Aiki

We haven't lost this series yet Chucker. Difficult to see us drawing this AND winning Sydney, but you never know.

Speaking of selectors making sweeping changes, check this out from cricinfo

Batsman Neil Broom is the only new face in the 13-man New Zealand side to take on West Indies in the first two ODIs of the five-match series. Broom, 25, will be replacing Scott Styris, who broke a thumb in the first Twenty20 against the West Indies on Boxing Day.

33 in front and hopefully another Ponting century.

I reckon they will give Hayden one more run in Sydney.

"I can't see Austra;lia lasting out the day here and SA should sweep up easily."

A typical Mip posting. Arrives like the angel of death when things aren't going Australia's way.

Makes a sweeping prediction and will soon disappear when Punter and Clarke et al pull the rabbit out of the hat and save the day.

Re:Aus V SA Reply to this message
with all the money these days these guys earn that's part of the reason why they stay too long.... He's dreaming if he thinks he can make it to the ashes tour... Bring on young Hughes and let the 20 year old live out his dream sorry Haydos but your dream is over and now it is a nightmare!

Re:Aus V SA Reply to this message
Yes time for Hayden to step aside. He won't though he will have to be pushed.

I actually think his undoing was Duncan Fletcher in the 2005 Ashes when they started putting the 2 guys right in his eye line. He has never been the same since.

Good that Australia is going to lose becuase it will bring on the changes that are so desperately needed.

I can't see Austra;lia lasting out the day here and SA should sweep up easily.

I will still be going to the Sydney test though.

I have just been sent an email from an English mate, spruiking the ashes and the fall of the Aussie side. I am letting him have his fun now, so that I can hopefully respond by July!
