| Actually the period after the terrorist attack is the SAFEST time to visit India. India is wide awake. 1 billion intelligence officers on the street. That's the best security you can ask for. |

The poms would have said something like "Oh look Rajesh we're just going to slip off back home for a shower and we'll be back for the Tests, really, we promise".
The Indians should have spotted the lie when the poms mentioned washing. |

| we all know the poms were not going to win the test series in india. this also means india do not get a chance at ripping off the number one spot by playing yet another series on home soil. good. i think they should be tested away from home. then we know if they're genuinely number one. i mean, reaching number one is meaningless if you can't consolidate the position. ALSO, inida should be offering to play the test series in the UAE. No western country should have to play cricket in India or Pakistan. No way. |

I found this article:
*The BCCI has shifted the second Test between India and England to Chennai, following Wednesday's terrorist strikes in Mumbai, though the fate of the series itself is uncertain. England's captain, Kevin Pietersen, indicated that a resumption of the tour might not be as straightforward as the authorities hope and Sean Morris, the PCA chief executive, said any decision would be based on reports from the players' security advisors.
The Indian board's announcement is a reiteration of their unequivocal stand of Thursday, when Lalit Modi, a vice-president and head of its fixtures committee, said the series would go ahead. Friday's announcement, by N Srinivasan, the BCCI secretary, said the second Test would start on December 19 in Chennai. The pre-Test practice match against the Board President's XI will be in Vadodara from December 5-7, effectively given the England team - which leaves Bangalore for London on Friday night with the ODI series aborted - five days at home.
Pietersen laid down the markers for what is likely to escalate over the next few days. "We need to make sure the security's right - but if it's not safe then we won't be coming back," he told Sky Sports. "People are their own people, I'll never force anyone to do anything or tell them to do anything against their will. On the field I may ask people to do things in a certain way but people run their own lives. We'll have to see how the security is." *

Actually I think they would be quite disappointed. Test's are what England are best at. I was really looking forward to see if they could beat the australian showing.
I am sure they could at least match it !! |

Thing is Loki, I reckon that England were done by having to keep with the run-rate in the ODIs, which is where India are miles ahead of everyone else at the moment. They have about 4 or 5 players who are all capable of hitting 50 off 35 balls. England only really have two of them. This is why they lost wickets at regular intervals becasue the asking-rate kept climbing and the new guys were not allowed any time to play themselves in.
What is worse, is that with that problem at hand, they take Bell out, and bring in Cook, who is a fine player, but a specialist Test-opener and as such, should be nowhere near a team that is required to post an excess of more than 300 in every game just to be in the hunt.
None of these factors will come into play during the test-series and that's why I think the tests will go better for England than the ODI series.
Pretty good theory, don't you think? |

5 zip in the ltd overs says doubtful , & i know the make up of the team would differ but c'mon guys, we got our ar//ses kicked and what evidence is there to suggest the poms would do any better? The only plus they had going for them was a 2 match series.
Dontcha just love the rivalry here....and its a while to the Ashes yet. Bring it on!
Keeping it topical though, right move to call it off and wait, nobody wants to get offed by a bunch of worthless gun toting scum for all the wrong reasons.
Ive got friends from the deccan plateau and theyre totally ashamed and worried that these mujihardin fu//cknuts are claiming the area as the basis for their reputation as low life ar//se sucking terrorists. |

This is an Al-Quaida attack - the first of its kind in the country. The targets were not Indians. They were Brits and Americans.

<<And England tour now cancelled asa per CricInfo...>>
I'm sure the whole English Cricket squad is relieved... now they don't have to shame their country anymore by playing the tests.
+++++++++++++++=
That's fair enough to take the p1ss, but let's look at the big picture here. A lot of people have lost their innocent loved ones in these shocking attacks.
There are a lot of bigger and more important issues than cricket games in the world today. |
