| 37.3 Watson to Elliott, no run, lets it go outside off and Haddin fumbles while trying to gather it |

Wade was an Aussie under 19 keeper/batsmen. He is Tasmanian, but left the state because he was behind Clingleffer and Paine.
He made his debut last season and made a 100 early on. His batting hasn't been spectacular of late (hasn't had to be really!) but his glovework is fantastic for someone so young. |

Don't get me wrong though - I'm a big fan of Haddin and he deserved his chance 200%!
I just think that with our side being so old (only 3 under 30), we need to make some tough decisions and Haddin is a prime candidate. I love Hayden, but he is another (even though I can guarantee he will score more centuries before he retires!). Lee and Clark are also possible 'harsh cuts' - but I doubt the selectors will make such a move with SA and Eng in the next year. |

I was merely being humourous in the second to last post my friend.
Yeah you are correct. Haddin has had probably enough test match experience so if there is no sign of improv by the Adelaide test then i think the selectors should find another alternative. |

But you are happy to crucify Haddin after Adelaide though?!
If Haddin was a 23 year old I would be happy to let him play and build into the role.
But Haddin was selected as a mature, experienced player who could step into test cricket and do the job.
If we are going to have a 'project' keeper, give the gloves to Wade from Victoria - he's a teenager and looks to be a very good gloveman and a more than handy batsmen. You don't pick 30+ debutants and let them work there way into the role over time. |

hey Girl,
Up until now I thought you were smart. You mustn't disappoint me, the way Binspacific and his stupid WHITE WILL BE CRUCIFIED thread.
Hadden and those others you mention desrve a FAIR GO! I think for too long we've been spoilt by what i call THE CHAIN. One champion's successes would either rub on all the others arouund him or a champion is succeeded by another. Guys like Gilchrist,
McGrath, Warne the Waugh bros,Taylor, Healey, etc don't just grow on trees you know. You got to give them a chance to. It's the australian spirit to! |

Its his 1st test match in Australia and I would give him some credit for that except that he has played for Australia in ODIs in this country before.
At times he seems like he is trying to hard to make an impression - the catch he dropped today was headed straight to Hayden, but with Haddin it was like he didn't trust where the slip fielders were.
I think Haddin, along with Lee, Watson, Symonds and Clark are playing for their spots over this summer as their are others who could slip into those positions if required. With Watson & Symonds, 1 could easily take the role of all-rounder, especially when we get to spinner friendly pitches, Lee needs to have an impact otherwise the selectors should start looking at the young pace options at domestic level who are going along nicely. |

He's played 7 tests now I think, so stage fright shouldn't be an issue at all. And even if it is, what difference would one more test make?
If we can't say he's under pressure now, why should we be able to after Adelaide? |

Perhaps it'sjust a case of stage fright. He still deserves a fair go.
If he's not improve by the Adelaide test, let's hang him then OK. |

Gilly was underrated as a gloveman - though at the back end of his career he began to miss a few chances, much like the decline in his batting. Just general age related regression.
Haddin is shaky, he has always had a good set of hands and his batting record for NSW is pretty good. But guys like Ronchi and Paine are ready if the selectors lose faith. |

| Haddin is no Gilly. Can't bat; and can't keep. Let's give someone else a go.... |
