The radio said SW this morning. |

NZ has won the toss, and elected to field
Hayden averages 70 at the Gabba when the Aussies have been sent it to bat BTW |

Cricinfo says JK was 12 th man
One of the betting agencies has Australia at 1.30 NZ at 12.00 and a draw at 4.33. With the dodgy weather, $$ on a draw could be a good bet. |

| Watson misses out, have to be considered VERY unlucky. Hope Symo proves the selectors right, although he may not get a bat :) |

Reverse swing isn't something too common in Aussie conditions anyway - that is why ou bowlers struggle to produce it in places like England and India (and in those places there are completely different ways of producing it too, so that adds to our problems).
This Gabba track should be a nightmare to bat on, Kiwis will be 4 down at lunch AT LEAST if they bat first. Australia will be flat out making it to the first break with 8 wickets in hand too! |

Wont be any need for reverse swing cause the k1s will be all out by 40 overs
The conventional swing should be enough - on the Gold Coast it is blue sky , hot and stickier than David Boons jockstrap. |

well, with a green top I reckon Watson will get in front of Krezja. If Watson can get reverse swing going and get a few wickets here he can cement a spot for quite a while.I reckon a Ponting hundred is on the cards as he plays well against the kiwis and he will be fired up!
probable line up;
1.Katich
2.Hayden
3.Ponting
4.Hussey
5.Clarke
6.Symonds
7.Watson
8.Haddin
9.Lee
10.Johnson
11.Clark |

| No way, Mate! Hayden's Home Track, and it'll be a green-top as usual. No, I can see Krejza and Siddle sitting out this one!! |

seriously lokikane,
a test match that is over in three days would be disasterous.
It would add creedence to all these critics who feel Test Cricket is as good as DEAD. |

that last sentence should be: "it WOULD BE a bad endorsement for Test Cricket to see a test match decided in just 3 days". |

If they do then it will be completed in three days.
T'aint good and also the Gabba ticket sales would be way down if it's not a full five day 5-day test.
Whilst i want to see Australia prevail, it wouldn't be a bad endorsement for Test Cricket to have a series decided in just three days. |

Vettori will go about as well on the Gabba as the likes of Murali. If Shield cricket is anything to go by, he probably won't get a bowl - batting sides are not facing 40 overs this season!
I can see Aussies knocking the Kiwis over for under 150 in both innings. |

BRETT Lee has revealed his Indian tour was undermined by a mystery bout of food poisoning.
But the fast bowler yesterday declared himself ready to bounce back as the spearhead Australia needs.
"We suspect it was food poisoning I was suffering from in India and I didn't feel that great," Lee said.
"I wasn't happy with the way I bowled in India, especially during the first two Tests, and I was a bit off the boil.
"But it's good to be back in Australia and I feel fighting fit again.
The Australians should be more careful when they tour unhygenic countries. |
