the docbrar is back
Have to ring up the 3 billy goats gruff to tell them their troll has escaped from under the bridge

I rate Hilfenhaus ahead of Geeves. Just unfortunate that he had injuries last year to slow him down.

Re:Aus V NZ Reply to this message
Bollinger, Geeves, Hilfenhaus, Siddle.

While I'm a massive fan of Geeves (most wickets so far in BOTH forms of the game), I think Hilfenhaus is a guy who can give many years of good service to the test team.

He swings it at pace, he rarely conceeds a lot of runs and is only 25.

Bollinger is unfortunate in that he hasn't been playing - he's been a net bowler for the Aussies.

Chucker - the :P at the end of that should tell you NO FRIGGIN WAY will I put money on that!

I'd love to see Geeves bowling on this pitch! I think if MJ can't produce something with the new ball he oughta give it away!!!

Re:Aus V NZ Reply to this message
NZ has to blood youngsters because their senior players like Astle and MacMillan have chronically underachieved in the past.

The k1s tried an opener by the name of Craig Cumming during the last Aus tour. Pity, he doesnt play now
" The New Zealand openers are Cumming and How" has quite a good ring to it ( pardon the pun)

Pity Aussies won't dabble with youngsters.

Rather indelicately phrased I would have said.

Re:Aus V NZ Reply to this message
Southee is a 19 year old allrounder with 5 wickets to his credit in 2 tests. 1 five wicket haul. Seems these youngsters have got it on us. Pity Aussies won't dabble with youngsters.

I remember a game at the Gabba between Tas and QLD. From memory 108 got first innings points and the game was over in less than 2 days!

Haydens 100 th next test.
Pura cup final( 2006 I think) on a similar pitch as this - Qld sent in made 100, NZSW made 120 in reply.

Re:Aus V NZ Reply to this message
Getting to lunch is the key - you'd think the afternoon sessions will be a lot easier, the ball will be older and have a less pronounced seam and the pitch will be less reactive.

Re:Aus V NZ Reply to this message
Yeah, Adelaide is the second NZ test I think - I'd imagine JK is a shot for that one, as well as the MCG and SCG Sth African tests.

WACA - we'll have to see what it looks like.

Re:Aus V NZ Reply to this message
Gabbas not going to offer much assistance anyway. Better for Krezja to play in Sydney or even Adelaide. Is there a test in Adelaide this year? :)
