Bring back Darrell Hair for the series .
Bucknor is past it .
I am sure Bucknor falls asleep during the match, and when woken up by a loud appeal , just raises the finger. Also, if he has a run in with the bowler, he wont give any batsman out who doesnt walk or doesnt have a stump knocked over. |

| Brat, that's right - with all the TV coverage and the 'referral' system coming in, why do we need 'neutral' umpires? I want the BEST umpires - and if that was 2 Indian blokes last series, so be it! |

Don't forget the Aussie ump - Simon Taufel. He is rated the #1 cricket umpire in the world - 5 consecutive umpire of the yr awards, but not allowed to umpire Aussie test matches, only ODI games.
They should change the rules regarding umpires and officiating games. If an umpire can officiate for an ODI game that features their country, why not a test match. Can't see too many people complain if either or both Taufel or Bowden was used during the current series. |

CONTROVERSIAL umpire Steve Bucknor's surprise return to Australia has been cancelled because of what the International Cricket Council (ICC) describes as "travel difficulties".
South Africa's Rudi Koertzen will take Bucknor's place in Thursday's first Test between Australia and New Zealand in Brisbane and the second Test in Adelaide. |

I agree that Dar is a good umpire, I think Bowden is back in form too - though he had a year or so where he was shocking!
Taufel is the best in the game, but again, he can't umpire our games.
There is another one I think is good too - I just can't remember who it is! :) |

Probably was out. No sympathy if you dont play a shot, and the bowler rightfully given benefit of the doubt.
But, Rudi will make a at least one clanger sometime during this test match. He and Bucknor have been really bad for years now, but somehow still manage to rock up for test matches.
Rudi has made his clanger for the test . Thank you, come again |

The Gabba test in November is a fallback to the 70s. The Gabba had limited seating, and with the greyhound track, barely could hold 20 000, and did not get the attendances of the Adelaide test.
Since the redevelopment, the Gabba can hold over 30000
Cricket Australia should surely look at playing better teams at the Gabba, purely as a strategic move against teams like India and Pakistan |

| 8.6 O'Brien to Hussey, OUT, I'm sorry but Hussey is very unlucky to be given the marching orders, O'Brien pitches it on a good length on middle and gets it to move away from the seam slightly, he withdraws the shot and the ball clips his pad before reaching the keeper, McCullum was super confident and Koertzen raised the finger, there was no bat involved at all though it was fairly close to the pad at the point of contact, his disappointment was justified, you have to feel for him |

| Quick odds - Katich making a 100? Clarke backing up his 98 with another big score? Symonds changing the game with a rapid fire score of 50+? Watson saving the day with a stoic half century? |

| Hmmm, the 22nd wicket of the match falls! I must say, I do like these kinds of test matches - runs can only be scored if the batsmen applies himself, has a solid defence and EARNS the runs. |
