Re:Aus V NZ Reply to this message
oh that could be true. Well now there seems to be no shortage of armchair Cricket experts here so starting with binspacific- why not submit your references at the Australian Cricket board as selectors?. It's a democracy and not a closed shop.

Well fu//ck im glad i dont work for you then.
The world is not entirely black and white.
First tour of India too and heres Lee thinking its a fast bowlers paradise - cut him some farking slack, theyre not gonna pull our pace attack leader off tour at the drop of a hat because he has a few bad spells.
What sort of head space would he be in for the rest of the summer with what hes coming back too.
He'll get the job done now hes home and god help the Saffers when he warms up with the K1's. He'll come good and fast.

I thought that decision came from Lee himself months ago.

Re:Aus V NZ Reply to this message
No - not as simple as that, not at all.
Been through a divorce, separation or other significant reality changing event vince?
How one handles it varies greatly person to person but the bottom line is that no matter what appears to be on the surface, theres always something lying just underneath.
He can try and focus and give the right impression to thiose that need to see it but when youre mind is elsewhere....well........ ..

Re:Aus V NZ Reply to this message
Now Why should his mind be elsewhere?
If it was, then the selctors should not be playing him simple as that!

I mean his mind seems to be somewhere else. Needs to re-focus his energies on the sport that he loves to play.

Re:Aus V NZ Reply to this message
I agree - I was impressed with Watson's bowling efforts and attitude in the last test. Always trying and now doing well and his injury issues seem behind him.

I think Siddle and either Lee or S.Clark (or possibly Krezja depending on how green or not the pitch is) will get rested.

Re:Aus V NZ Reply to this message
So do they pick 2 all-rounders?

I don't know where the selectors are going with this. I think they've painted themselves into a corner.

Two of this list will miss out - probably 2 pacemen?

The squad has been named.

Squad
Matthew Hayden, Simon Katich, Ricky Ponting (capt), Michael Hussey, Michael Clarke, Andrew Symonds, Shane Watson, Brad Haddin (wk), Jason Krejza, Brett Lee, Mitchell Johnson, Stuart Clark, Peter Siddle.

Was hoping that they'd leave out Lee & Haddin and give Hilfenhaus & Paine a run.
