Most Australians would like history to tell you that the convicts that came here are actually their great great grand parents cos the fact is they are. The convicts were the first generation of Australians. Cook, Flinders, and all those who discovered this country, decided to settle here and build settlements throughout the country. The labour was done by prisoners of the motherland(being England) and those who came over in the ships served their time here and worked on the land. Many were pardoned and free to raise a family and settle. But Australians would like new generations of Australians to believe that they all were treated poorly and only stole a loaf of bread, yet in society today, it wouldnt matter what you stole from a shop, it is still a criminal act which you can be prosecuted for. At least they didnt get their hands chopped off for it like in other countries. The early 1800's were exactly filled with normality or the people in those days were a modern society, but the laws and lifestyle we enjoy today was set down by the English who at least has some common decency and democratic system that has served well and will continue to do so for many years to come. The Germans and Italians are more criminal than any other society the majority of this nation has ever seen. Their Fascist regimes murdered millions if my memory serves me correct. A lot of the convicts that came here were in prison for murder, rape, adultery, theft, assault police, assault, GBH and every other crime that most go to jail for these days. Get over yourselves and start realising where you history is rather than try to re-write it out of embarassm ... |

| I thought the Desert Rats were a division of the British Army if my memory serves me correct. Ummm...that would the lot that did over Rommel in the Second World War. Australia's only claim to fame is their annihilation at Gallipoli in which they have spent decades trying to blame the English for, yet a great AUSTRALIAN historian did proper research to discover that it was an Australian commander who sent them to their deaths, after orders from Britian had come through to stop their suicidal attacks from the trenches. A lot of hatred towards English in this country is by Irish folk over the generations that have their hatred from wantng their independance from Britian for ages. Truths have been twisted and distorted. Basically, when anything happens, blame the English. When it comes to whingeing, yes they are indeed many whingeing English, but having grown up and lived there, then coming to Australia, ive never met so many whingers in all my life out here in Australia. The settlements in Australia were built through labour done by criminals shipped out from England. Criminals they were, but because the new generation of Australians came from a lot of those who worked out here to serve their time, then were reformed into the new society of the day, I guess the TRUE BLUE AUSSIES don't like to be referred too as a bunch of criminals, yet they are proud to put up their hand and remember the likes of Ned Kelly, Thunderbolt and other notorious bush outlaws. They re-write history and try to make out these guys were good guys fighting against the English imperalist system etc etc...wanting freedom and independance etc etc. Fact is a lot of those MURDERED by the KElly Gang and others were part of the new generation of Australians who were up holding the law at the time. When a police officer is killed these days with a wife and kids in todays society, amazing how many people feel sorry for them. Yet they glorify Kelly for killing their own Aussie coppers...lol |

England was never multi-cultural, not until the late '60's, when people from the carribean, began migrating to England as English citizens. The white English were outraged and very prejudice and rascist to their new Negro neighbours. Even now the two races dont really assimilate, Whole suburbs are either black or white, not of mixed race. If it wasnt for us True Blue Aussies, Germany would have won the first world war. The French people know it was Australia that turned the war. Coz we're Fair Dinkum when we do something, not like your typical Pommy example of; "It was only a freindly" and "we dont care about some worthless olympic tournament, we got Euro Under 21 championships." Didnt see England do well in that either. Aussies Fight hard, play hard and never give in. Our spirit of pride and our indomitable character, does not allow us to give in without a fight, does not allow us to walk away and leave something unfinished. The Germans tried a propogander tactic against us in Tobruk, the tactic was very successful so far against all other nations, it involved slandering the enemy and referring to them as weak cowards who the Germans would crush, run away and spare your lives, they were persuaded and many did, making it so easy for German troops to advance with little resistance. In Tobruk they called us Aussies "vermin", "Rats", living in the gutters, sneaking around at night. So the Aussies took it as a challenge, and we became the "Rats of Tobruk", hiding in the gutters and sneaking at night to raid and destroy the German morale. We beat them at their own game, just as we did to the whinging POHMs. Hahhahaha......sore losers. |

But England is unique in that many wealthy Indian and Pakistani families wish their children educated in Englands finest schools, so they spend their teenage years in England, playing for the school side, if they are any good they may get into a county team. Now if they have resided in England for the past three years they qualify for residency, which then makes them English. If they are very good, chances are that they will be selected for Englands Under 19 side and then they are officially English Players. Also county cricket attracts many foriegners to play in England, again if they are any good, and they havnt represented their country of birth, then after three years of playing county cricket they qualify as a resident and can then be claimed as English players by being selected in a national side, such as England A side or under 19 level. The life in England is mainly preferable to the life they may have if they were to return to their country of birth, so many will choose to become English, and why not, they live there, their families are there, England has become Home. So its not like England is offering players to leave their own country and play for England, it just works that way cause of the attraction of Englands education system and the very international county cricket. who knows in a few years maybe players are becoming Indian Test players when they are born in Australia, coz of the wealth on offer in Indian cricket. |
