He'll go eventually, but naturally the family comes first and Lara is going to need her man's shoulder to cry on.

I know I'd never dream of going away anywhere if my father in law passed - that'd just be cold!

Re:Clarke out of Windies tour Reply to this message
show me the link where it says he is ruled out. The articles I have read have said that he will be given as much time as needed to get there. So if he arrives just in time, he will play. Unless this has changed in the last few hours.

Re:Clarke out of Windies tour Reply to this message
totaly agree with cricket freak, why in the hell bring in hodge instead of Hussry..Gee i think everyone knows how good David Hussey is--Bring him in and throw out Hodge(even though i am a victorian myself)....

And yes all thoughts are with Michael Clarke and i suppose Bingle too,i really hope her father is going to be ok..She is lucky to have a strong person like Clarkey standing right beside her at this fu<ked up time in her life..All the best to both fathers...

Re:Clarke out of Windies tour Reply to this message
what does david hussey have to do to get a test spot? brad hodge is picked ahead of hussey yet hussey averages 7 more fc runs than hodge and is 3 years younger plus had a way better summer than hodge in terms of runs yet they pick the chubby 33 year old first when his last tour ended in disaster?(india odi tour sept 2007)

Re:Clarke out of Windies tour Reply to this message
Seems like it might actually be the health of Lara's father that is the concern, rather than Michael's.

Re:Clarke out of Windies tour Reply to this message
Hodge is about as useful as the IPL when weighed up against D Hussey. Maybe theyre thinking of it as a farewell gift for Hodge. Lets face it - he was only ever going to get another run with a tour like this and under these circumstances. Any other tour or on his own merits was not going to happen.

Re:Clarke out of Windies tour Reply to this message
Wish Clarke and his family well at this time - but why is Hodge bought in, why does D. Hussey have to do to get a test call up?

Clarke skipped the IPL because his father was having chemotherapy treatment for cancer
Sounds like all is not going well
Best of luck to Clarke and his dad

Clarke out of Windies tour Reply to this message
Michael Clarke has pulled out of the Windies tour for personal reasons. Brad Hodge has been called into the squad as a replacement.

That will be a big loss.
