Once was chucker; you're "monkey see, monkey do "jibe is way off the mark.
When Trescothick was fighting his demons Kipsy thought it quite within bounds to take the p1ss out of the situation. I considered responding in kind with remarks about Michael Slater's brave battle with bi- polar disorder but decided I didn't have to resort to dredging the bottom of the sewer in order to get cheap laughs,as he (Kipsy)did .
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~
Wrong - As anyone who has been here long enough to remember the REAL story itis quite different.
I, along with everyone else, expressed best wishes to the man when the English decided to tell lies and say that he had a "virus".
It was the spin doctors that mishandled the whole event not me. And what was the pom trolls reaction???
Well the fearless duo decided to get stuck into Glenn McGrath's wife who was battling cancer at the time. They had no problem with that - one of them even suggested that Glenn McGrath and Justin Langer were gay. As I said anyone who has been here a long time will know the truth behind what I say.
As for picking up typo's (I typed of instead of off) - How lame. That gives you the high moral ground????
The ELTON post was started by someone called owls (who I believe was a pom).
This thread was started by ME - and it is based on a pom newspaper article which I quoted at the beginning.
This is a cricket thread.
If I want to express an opinion on a cricketer I feel I should be able to do so without having to respond to the inane ramblings of the dynamic duo every 5 minutes.
Do they worry me? Not on your life. They've shown themselves for the trolls that they are. The sickly suck-up stories of the 3 posts below are as thin as a pom's towel.
Please feel free to spellcheck. |
Apolgies for the multiple postings.
Again chucker, the difference between Kipsy and ourselves is that our remarks are normally based on fact . Kipsy's tend to be based on unfounded allegations. and bullspit. |
"His avge at Lords against Australia has been posted( you can quote avges in dead rubbers in Australia where McGrath was absent, but doesnt change his Lords performances)he averages 30 + against Pakistan and South Africa at Lords."
I don't understand what the obsession with averages against one or two teams compared to the whole picture is about. His tons at Lord's came against Bangladesh, India, NZ, Sri Lanka and the Windies (x2). He failed to score a ton against Australia, SA, Zimbabwe and Pakistan. Both lists contain top teams as well as mediocre ones.
No doubt, this is like the argument of Warne's average in India or Pontings average against Bangladesh. With any player, you can always take your pick and say that he didn't perform well here or there. So what's the point.
Vaughan has now scored 6 Test-centuries at Lord's, as many as Gooch, but in half the amount of innings played.
"Vaughan feasts on ordinary attacks"
Well, if that's your feeling, I think that's not really the case. He scored his tons against the following oppositions:
Australia: 4
India: 4
Windies: 4
Sri Lanka: 2
SA: 1
Pakistan: 1
NZ: 1
Bangladesh: 1
Zimbabwe: 0
While you can discuss the strenght of the individual bowling attacks that he faced, I find it interesting that he scored only one of his centuries against "the minnows". He scored almost half of his tons gainst India and Australia. that does not look like feeding off weak bowling attacks.
"this NZ bowling attack would have a different feel if the NZCB could afford to pay Shane Bond a decent salary."
True, from a criketing point of view, it's a Shame that Bond is not playing atm. It's also a shame that Flintoff, Simon Jones and Trescothick are not playing atm... But that's the way it goes and there is no point whinging about it. it usually evens itself out over the years. But I also think that you are foing a slight disservice to Chris Martin and who proved again that he is in my opinion a top-class bowl |
"Monkey see monkey do???"
Maybe "Monkey do" after several months of "Monkey see". So yes, because of that I still claim the moral high ground over Kipsy. She's not someone who engages in proper discussion about any topic that she raises. She never has and she has no cricketing opinions to speak of. Kipsy, Dellboy, world_wide_whinge, pkanska, etc. are all the same type of clowns who who all deserve to be treated this way. |
Vaughan 106. Ton number 18, becoming the most successful batsman at Lord's in the process.
Most successful as being the highest runscorer???
to me , most runs is not more successful.
The "pommy trolls" as you put it, have simply agreed to play the Kipsy game.
Monkey see monkey do???
by resorting to Id's like Capt Integrity and whatever, you are on the same level as Kipsy, yet continue to attempt to claim moral superiority, which is just bull**** |
The first time the guy gets a score after a million innings and suddenly it's "messiah time" amongst the trolls and the downtrodden.
Flogging minnows is what rates in Pommyland.
It's time that they "manned up" instead of filling the side with limp wristed silver spoon socialites. If they could get Freddy to lay of the booze (it's too late for the likes of Harmison who prefers park cricket and the pub) they might lay the foundations for a decent future in the game.
I fear however it will be more of the same old "cucumber sandwich" brigade and excuses and speeches following another defeat at the hands of the world champions. |
It is strange the anti Vaughan sentiments aired here on this messsage board.
He is a great captain - see press (no better critics)
He is majestic as a batsman
Come on all give the guy credit
I can't believe some of the cr@p that gets written here sometimes.
"Vaughan's hopeless Ashes performance( with both bat and captaincy blunders)"
An average in Aus of 60 + with the bat. An Ashes record as skipper of played 5 won 2 drawn 2 lost 1.
And what about those 2 drawn matches? The first at Old Trafford where Aus were still 51 runs short with 9 wickets down. Boy, I can still see the look of relief on Brett Lee's face. And the second at the Oval where that was all that was needed to win the Ashes.
Yes, the first Test at Lord's was lost , but you don't mention why. It was because Glen Donald McGrath went through the England order like a knife through butter. with 5/53 and 3/39.In fact I'm surprised you didn't mention his stats at Lord's. 3 Tests 28 wickets @11.50.Probably benefited from his season with Middlesex, learning how to exploit the Lord's slope.
To quote Vaughan's solitary match v Aus at Lord's as a significant stat. You're taking the p1ss surely. |
"Punter , along with Lara and Tendulkar, avges about 20 at Lords( the obsession with Punter amongst Pommy trolls is amazing, but hey, Kipsy is the one with the problem ,isnt he??)"
yes she is. But for your info, Kipsy's obsession with Vaughan dates back to December 2005. I guess you haven't been here long enough to see how the whole thing came about.
The "pommy trolls" as you put it, have simply agreed to play the Kipsy game.
which ashes series are you talking about..? Or are you talking about Ponting..? |
On further research,
Glenn McGrath scored 30 runs at Lords and never was dismissed, Murali and Chandrasekhar also were never dismissed at Lords, and Courtney Walsh avged 8.5
Punter , along with Lara and Tendulkar, avges about 20 at Lords( the obsession with Punter amongst Pommy trolls is amazing, but hey, Kipsy is the one with the problem ,isnt he??)
Border 500 runs in 5 tests avge 105, Steve Waugh avges 118, Mark Waugh 80, Greg Chappell 67 and Bradman 70
Vaughan's hopeless Ashes performance( with both bat and captaincy blunders) puts him even below Devon Malcolm with th bat, but is spared total embarrassment in the knowledge that at least Tuffers only averaged 2.00 at Lords with the bat |
