channel ten did the Windies tour 0f 94-5 when channel 9 got tight smart with the ACB.
Channel 10 did very well out of the series with Aus winning 2-1 in a closely fought and often heated series.
The ashes 2005 only got onto SBS after a public outcry and intervention from little Johnny.
Will RuddK step up for the 2009 series? Perhaps, after the public outcry, he will announce a committee to look into it and after a series of meetings, get SBS to telecast the last day of the last test. |

| Yeah, the Bangers 'winter wipeout' tour was on 9 - I think even the ODI's they played earlier this year was a 9 telecast too. |

Regarding Ten, yes that would make sense because Ten is about to launch an offshoot - but only available in high definition - that broadcasts basically sporting coverage.
So yes man, I'm hoping it goes to Network ten. |

Bangladesh... covered by 9? thats who i was alluding to, but cant recall.
Yeah, i remember watching the sbs coverage, just got confused with fox.. my bad.
10 is an option... they'll be keen, espeically with the IPL locked in too. |

I don't remember a home test series in the past 2 decades not broadcast by 9.
On the sunject of the ashes, I'd say fox DEFINATELY will have it - the question is whether or not a commercial network will also have the rights.
Last time it was fox/sbs and I know Ten is keen for more and more sport, so maybe they are in the mix. |

yes generally. Except in 2005. It was SBS from memory.
C9 tried it before and basically annoyed Cricket fans because they would cross to the cricket after their regular sacred top rating programs. |

Generally channel 9 does home series, fox does away series. Unless its a rubbish team coming here, whereby fox will also do that.
9 is for ratings... 3 day tests dont rate. the only way the k1's get a run is cuz of the trans-tasman rivalry.
For instance, you'l find that 9 is doing the saffa's whilst they are here, but fox has the saffas when we go there.
Again, espeically in engerland, i cant see 9 paying the $ for an 11:30p.m. - 7:30a.m. thing. |

| hey Cricket lovers: Pardon me if I sound repetitious but does anyone out there know which of the networks will be telecasting the 2009 Ashes test series? Been at the ACB website and there's no information available. Hope like hell it doesn't go to Fox Sports! |

| sven, come on, he is a mere shadow of the bowler of 4 years ago. He couldn't knock a sick old granny off a pi$$-pot now, he is toothless, fireless, useless. He USED to be a very good bowler, in much the same way that Jane Fonda USED to be one of the sexiest women. He's washed up and should not play again for england unless the injury crisis in fast bowling stocks warrants it. |

Sorry guys can't agree about Vaughan still an excellent captain. As for Strauss he has only been back in the side 5 minutes.
I think his avaerage this tour is still better than Pontings last outing.
So I reckon England should perceviere. |

| Strauss yes, I think he shopuld step aside and let players like Shah, Benning and others in. With vaughan, I'd give him until the end of the year, after the home series against NZ and SA before assessing his future. |

mip_ceo... totally unfair to single out Harmy when you could say the same about the entire English team...
since the 2005 Ashes campaign, the England team has been woefully managed and Harmison best reflects that...
the future of the team in Pietersen, Bell and Panesar have not made any significant improvements in quite a while and its a crying shame given what they achieved |

Some players respond to being dropped better than others.
I consider Hoggard to be far stronger mentally than Harmison, and I would imagine Hoggard being dropped would spur him to work harder , become mentally tougher.
Interesting to note that in the Australian side, Mike Hussey is the only player not to be dropped for disciplinary reasons or form. |

| Nevermind Kip, I'm upset that Hoggard got the boot. One bad match and he gets it. harmisson on the other hand was afforded a hatful of bad matches and they rolled out the red carpet for him to come back into the team. Go figure... |
