| it is funny how people rate judd so highly but when it comes to discussing trades they only will give up rookies or discarded players for him... carlton is a classic for this in refusing to give up pick 1, meaning they rate a rookie higher than judd |

I asked this question in another thread but never got an answer.
Can teams trade their pre season draft picks for the uncontracted players? If so then if Judd picks Collingwood, why cant they just do a deal with Richmond for their No.1 pre season selection and pick him up then without having to deal with W.C.E. who will get nothing out of it. |

| Maybe Ryan Lonie could go? He has been overtaken by Heath Shaw and Marty Clarke coming off half back. He has pace and a silky left boot. How about it Eagles? You want him??? |

Dan, agree with you on the Egan front. The kid has had a few years in the system and hasnt shown me anything that suggests he may go on. His kicking is a major disappointment.
And Didak was the matchwinner in Perth. Third quarter in the centre with the clearances, last quarter he seemed to be everywhere (I loved his celebration after that goal), and in extra time also. |

Exactly. His goal from 55 against the eagles to put us in front in the last quarter last week was brilliant.
Eddie has dowsed the whole Josh Fraser issue saying it is rubbish and not to be believed. Didnt say much about Judd, other than they met, took him to the lexus centre, and that they would do everything they can to get him. I really dont think that will involve trading Fraser or Didak though. |

| yeah dan he was the diff against the swans when they got away for a 20 odd point lead and his goal against the cats had to be seen to be believed. Hopefully he can get a big pre-season behind him and parade his talents much more regularly next season. |

| Didak did struggle this year, but i think he started to get some of his zip back towards the end of the season, and looked really great in the finals |

| dan if they trade Thomas or Pendlebury they should be shot! Alan may be a horse of a slightly different color, Mick has been using him off the bench a lot more lately - it may be that his injuries have taken some of his stamina and the gloss off his pace. He's still a quality player who can do the improbable and I for one would be sad to see him go. It may be time to change the side around too - Cloke into the backline to plug the hole left by Clement. Both Thomas and Penlebury need big off seasons, you can be sure they'll be targetted next year we need Thomas' pace and Pender's poise around the packs to generate some real drive, but they are still both fairly lightly framed yet so a big pre-season is a necessity in my opinion |

| any idea where we might find anything about what took place re: meeting with judd today. as a pies supporter i would be devastated if any player was traded to give up any of those boys that have done what they did this year is unthinkable they are a bonded unit and nothing is worth stirring it up, even a great player of judd's statue |

Surely we wont trade Thomas, Pendlebury or Didak. Surely!!
They are the best things to happen to the pies for many years. I think we could give Rhys Shaw, Chris Egan (who i dot rate), Alan Toovey (who i also dont rate)
and what ever picks they want. We have plenty of good kids coming through, so i dont think it would hurt us at all to give up a few picks. Maybe we could trade Shaw, Egan and/or Toovey to a few lowly Melbourne teams in excange for some decent picks, then the Eagles could draft their own forwards |

| John Greening was a real champ who's career was cut a little short due to a head injury. I met him when i was a kid back in the '80's and ill never forget it. |

yes guzey he had that 'touch' and always seemed to have more time than anyone else like most champs. He was 'king hit' behind the play by a St Kilda player and almost died from brain injuries. He eventually made a comeback but was a pale shadow of the bright promise and only played a few games before fading out of the side.
A dedicated number of magpie 'troll' supporters followed him every game he went to thereafter and St Kilda never played him at Victoria Park or against Collingwood. |

I'm too young to remember him but I have heard the name mentioned before. Apparantely he had a fantastic career ahead of him, till injury finished him half way through?
Just read on another forum someone saying that Malthouse came out today saying that Collingwood werent going to trade either Fraser or Didak as were "rumoured". Cant find any evidence as to Malthouses interview, its heresay from the forum. |

| pendelbury reminds me of a player we had years back called John Greening although he was a half forward both had about the same build and both were composed play readers who always tried to use the ball to advantage instead of blindly pushing it forward, both refused to panic under pressure and rarely wasted the ball under any circs. |

Going to a few games earlier in the year everyone was going on about Thomas, and I told them that Pendelbury would be better than him and I got laughed at. I havent changed my opinion, and I think I may have swayed those knockers too.
As for Didak, he has that unpredictability like Daicos in that he can kick goals from anywhere in that 50 metre zone, either from a set shot or in play. They cannot get rid of that. |

| I have seen a few freak goals in my time but Dids effort against the Cats was top rank, he does appear to have fitness issues though, Malthouse seems to be using him off the bench more now. If so and they do go stupid better to trade him than young Thomas or Pendelbury who could be anything. |

| As an add on, if they do go out of their minds and do something stupid and trade either of Thomas, Pendelbury or Didak for any reason whatsoever, then I will not be renewing my membership for the next few years at least. |
