Well, we pretty much started the trend in the GF back in the 70's (forget which year) but remember the famous words of Barassi at half time syaing "Handball, Handball, Handball" and we ended up coming back from 40 odd points down which started the new era in footy.
I for one am not too disappointed, the game is much faster now and more skillfull as well. Pagan tried to get us to kick long and it failed miserably, long kicking was the game of yesteryear when you had power forwards and the average height of a palyer was well over 6foot. I'm glad that size has been swapped for skill and speed and if the end result is more handballing, then I'll live with it (that's not too say I like it, its just a natural evolution in a game that gets faster every year, tho I do miss the big speccies that the long kicking game used to provide us with) |

If we used less handball and more footwork in the first half, the story might have been different.
74 to 4 halfway through the second quarter, bloody disgraceful |

Is the game being spoiled by too much handball?
Watching NAB cup there appears to be more hand passes than kicks, or am I wrong? (again) |
