In my humble opinion, Juddsy should not be captain this year. He will be better off settling into the club methods first and concentrating on his game. There are too many people waiting to put the bag on him if he doesn`t come up to scratch first off. Especially those scribes in the west, Hey worsa, g`day richo

in 2006 Fevola won most goals kicked (in a bottom 3 sidetoo) with no one feeding it to him regularly. If he can play like that in 2008 and not let his ego get to him he will be a star.

fev WILL stand up, because he hasnt really had a good midfielder to pass the ball to him.. now that carlton has paid big bucks for judd, if fev still stuffs it up.. wouldnt it be like hes letting the whole side down?

Well said Aytakk2, I don't think it will matter too much, altho I don't want it to go to Simpson or Carrots, I really like them both, thought Simmo did an admirable job, and carrots had a great year, but with Stevens, Judd and Scotland (and even fev) who are more experienced, they would be my pick first. And yes, Stevens, Judd and even Murphy (who is a pinpoint kick and a great decision maker under pressure and won't have the no1 tagger this year) will be one of the better units going around for the cleanliness of forward entries...Fev better stand up!!!

Who cares who the captain is - they are all good leaders in their own right so let them share the burden and get down to brass tacks - playing good footy!
How many times are we going to see Judd and Stevens feeding the ball to Fevola this season... drool - most teams can only wish for such a combination into attack |

i reckon either stevens or scotland.. coz judds just come in2 the club, and hes been the center of attention for ages, and even though hes been the guy thats lifted up the boys' spirits there would be an even more amount of pressure on him being a captain in his first game at the club then there would be if hes not captain..
BUT i wouldnt mind if hes part of a leadership group with stevens and scotland and POSSIBLY fev |

Hi y'all... I think that the captaincy role could easily go to Juddy... He is a great leader, very likeable on & off the field... He definitely gets along wtih his team mates.. trains hard.. leads by example... gets along with the 'regular' supporters.. with a touch of sense of humour.. as for v.c... I'm tossed up with Stevo, Scotto & Carrazzo...

I agree,Fav will win you a game off his boot one week and the next week he's nowhere to be seen,he's a great player, but in hindsight not the captain's role, give Juddy the job, backed up by Stevo and Scotty.

More than happy to give it straight to Judd, and I don't think too many blues supporters would disagree. MY feeling is that it is really a 2 horse race, judd or stevo. BUT, a big twist could be to play the psychological card and actually hand it to Fevola to force him to mature and show some mental discipline re: attitude. Fev sh!ts me sometimes and can often be as much a liability as a matchwinner but boy, when he pulls his head in and turns it on, I rate him as one of the top 10 players in the comp (only when he pulls his head in tho). In fact, i think it could be a good idea, as if he doesn't behave, then the leadership "group" of judd/stevo/simmo/scotty will take over anyway so it prob wouldn't matter if we lost one out of 6 potential captains from a leadership perspective, the main prob which we had last year anyway, is that when fev drops his head, the midfielders then lose confidence in the forward line entries and become unsure of who to kick to. Under this scenario, it would then become necessary to put waite straight into the forward line, otherwise we're phoooked, which will happen this year whether fev is captain or not

give it straight to Judd if he wants it, he may prfer to just play without the burden - especially at a new club, but he would be the best man for the job imo.

yeah vc may not be a bad idea for a year, but who else is there with his ability? Stevo I don't mind and would do a good job, has the respect of the team, but for some reason, I'm concerned about his durability. I think Murph, Simmo or Even Gibbsy would/will be great in time, but not just yet. Giving captaincy to a first year recruit is a big call, but then again, we are talking about one of the best players in the last decade. I for one have no probs at all. Plus, there won't be the expectation at the blues to fill shoes such as he had with the eagles and replacing benny. All in all tho, I'm not too bothered bout it really

I would give Juddy one season as vice captain then give him the captains role, when at West Coast he was given the captains role when Benny boy stuffed up and I think he was not ready for the main gig and was put under much pressure to lead like Ben,time will tell.He will be a great asset for your club.

I think Judd is a BIG chance, but not yet a sure thing, he certainly has the backing of Fev. I for one wouldn't mind one bit if he did become captain, apparently he has been training the house down and set a Princes PArk time trial record just recently so that can only be a good thing for the youngsters to observe and learn from. Also, Fev is one of our most important players and anyone or anything that gets him to pull his head in and play good footy is a good thing imo. Just loved seeing the fev and the juddster handballing to each other, perhaps one of the most exciting things this die-hard supporter has seen for quite some time.
