| Hey scarps, the "meathead" comment was not directed at you, I think your one of the more reasonably-minded posters here. But I maintain my point that we are far from being an old side either, age-wise there's buggerall in it. Yes your kids did stand-up admirably, but, the margin did get out to 38 points at one stage in the final, we just took the foot-off a bit, so it was still a comfortable win, but yes, more would have been better for our confidence in the last rounds and when finals are a possibility. Also, that weather was disgraceful, so getting out to 38 points in that weather (like rain) is the equivalent of a few extra goals in sunny weather. I don't think either team should be overly criticised for their performances, tigers had a good crack at it and pushed us, but as with most good teams if they want semptember action, you have to learn how to win ugly or when you aren't at your best. On saturdays performance,u guys got the win.Thats it.Nothing pretty. But it didnt have to be.4 points is all that matters. | And carlton isn't young either??? freakin meathead. We're still ONE OF the youngest teams (were THE youngest last year) AND, we're in the 8 with ALL teams ahead older than us. That's a pretty good recipe for the future IMO. In fact, without Stevens and Scotland (as was the case on the weekend), there'd be very little difference in avg age between tiges and blues. | Some of the players must realise that being mesmerised by the outstanding play of opponents leads to inaction; by focusing excessively on nullifying your opponent doesn't translate in a competitive approach to the ball, that might contribute to scoring pressure, as well as a protective measure for existing ladder points percentage. The blues were extremely disappointing, not for losing a football match (Essendon were great!), but for losing sight of the fact that you are only ever as good as your actions will allow - not where your egos place you in the pecking order of football. |

Umpires get it wrong and they also get it right, for us and our competition. Loosing your nerve is not what wins you games. Stand up and take accountability Blues and that goes for you supporters out there who think we were robbed. I could give over 100 points about what the Blues should have done differently last night, they just didn't want it as much as Essendon did.
