| I am proud to say I played league with Ben's father Jeff at South Blackwater 1979/80, and he was a young man who could have worn the maroon in any other decade (had he gone to the city instead of preferring to be a bull rider) so if this lad is as good or better than his dad, and doesn't go bull riding in the off season, he'll wear the maroon at some stage of his career...watch out Blues | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

If they were as good as they say they are and have as much depth as the club would have the public believe then they should have prepared adequately for Origin time and there would be no excuses. | Thursday, June 18, 2009 DEBUTANT Ben Hunt tells Bronco TV today that he is nervous but excited about his first match in the NRL, to be played against the Sharks in Sydney on Monday night. The 19-year-old will assume halfback Peter Wallaceâs jersey in a âBaby Broncosâ outfit that includes two other debutants, 17-year-old Dale Copley and Guy Williams. Hunt will partner junior teammate Andrew McCullough in the halves, and while he said he was feeling only a bit of pressure at the moment, it was likely to intensify closer to game day. âThe nerves are not too bad at the moment, but I am sure they are going to be pretty bad closer to the game,â said Hunt. âI usually get nervous before any game, so this one should be pretty bad.â The Bronco will be missing captain Darren Lockyer, Wallace, Israel Folau, Sam Thaiday, and Karmichael Hunt because of Origin, with Justin Hodges injured. |
