| Bwah hahahahahahaha De Vere returns from retirement for Broncos ABC - January 23, 2009, 1:55 pm Michael De Vere says he has come out of retirement for the Brisbane Broncos to see if he can still play rugby league at the top level. De Vere ended his career in 2006 after he returned from a spell with Huddersfield in the English Super League. The 32-year-old has been working as a football development officer and the NRL has agreed that his earnings in that role should not count towards the Broncos' salary cap. De Vere says he just wanted to play again. "The main reason I'm coming back is just for the love of the game," he said. "I love rugby league and I love the Broncos. "I've got the desire back to play and I thought why not come back and play while I still can, rather than regret it 10 years down the track." |
