All I will say as a die hard Broncos fan is that not having Berrigan will be a loss for the Broncos. A really good and versatile player who has a tendancy stand tall when it counts. Assuming that he settles in ok over there he's the sort of player that potentially inspire the whole side to play well.
In regards to Adam Dykes I don't know his game as well as I do Berrigans but I believe whilst not quite of the same calibre he's still a good solid player that will have plenty to offer the side.
I think the main thing with these guys will be how well they can settle in over there. If they can be made to feel at home and if they can cope with the climate you'll be home and hose as they say.
All the best with it. |

| Oh and Berrigan will be a great buy especially if injurie hit the club but not so sure about dykes. If u get Pet/ero well that will be a great buy considering he's arguably the best prop in the world. |

| All these players we are losing to the super league it just continues. Why can't we get players like Sculthorpe, Long, Wellens etc to give the NRL ago thats wat would help close the gap between AUS and GB |

Hi Kip,
I used to sit in th MKM stand but moved to West stand this year, i know it's the quiet stand but i get the discount through work.
You definately right though, we could do with Dykes now, so many games we could have won this year but failed due to the lack of idea and inability to find the pass to cut the defence. I hear Mathew Head will be with us next week which may help !!
Personally i fell Thackery looks like a busy Scrum Half, i'd play Tony at stand off (he was good enough to do it for the Kiwi's) and put Horne at full back in the absence of Briscoe. |

Berrigan will be a very good buy ,a versatile player who can do most things well.
Dykes is pretty much a 3rd tier player. He is not good enough to be in the top tier and he is too old for any expectation that he has unfulfilled potential to get there. He will be OK but nothing special. |

Hi hullfcer
I'm a Hull FC fan too and have been posting on these boards for a couple of years.
Don't listen too closely to all the comments here. Berrigan and Dykes are great buys.
Truth is we need them now.
I go to every home game and some away games as I live in Hull. I sit in the South Stand at the KC high up behind the posts next to the SKY camera when they are there.
I used to stand in the same position at the Boulevard.
Good to see you on the boards. I don't think many here comprehend our fanatical support.

Just heard on the radio that P/Cin might be joining Berrigan at Hull...
This place is gonna be full of Aussies, it's gonna be like being back in Bali, looking forward to it. You cant beat winding up an Aussie, you guys bite worse than Jaws.
Any truth in what im hearing, is it a possibility P/Cin may follow Berrigan??? |

Slightly Harsh Wedges, we know we are Streets behind the Aussie's in terms of producing top players but i think we have or are bridging the gap with the Kiwi's.
In fact player of the season this year is a race between Paul Wellens and James Roby both British.
Granted our league would be significantly worse without Trent Barrett, Brent Webb etc etc but the improvement of the SL has to be a good thing for you as well as surely you as a nation want to see a more competitive GB v's Australia, a close game has to be better then "how many are we going to win by" sadly i fear this is some time away, at least until global warming really kicks in and we get year round sun like you lucky b*****ds |

"He may now be forced to play out his career in England, most likely with Hull who are very keen to lure him to Super League." - this was taken from an article regarding big petro.
if hull snags him, they've come away with a very good trio from the aussie comp over the next couple of years. dykes might not be in the top tier or 2 of halves, but he's more than capable none the less, especially over there. berrigan can be dangerous from a number of positions when his game is on, trouble is, he comes n goes - but he's still a very good buy. and petro would be close to, if not the top front rower in the nrl. |

| Dykes has always been a bit overrated, always portrayed as the great talent that has never had the same opportunities as some of his contempories. Fact is, if he had all the talent thats been mentioned he would have got the job done in a higher profile a while back. Berrigan's still got a bit to bring to the U.K game, can go 80 mins if he has to and IMO will have more success over there then people will give him credit for. Good buy. |

Hello my antipodean friends,
I'm from Hull in the UK, my team is Hull FC and we have just signed Berrigan on a 4 year deal. I used to catch a lot of NRL on Sky TV but they lost coverage to Setanta which means another subscripton (robbing g its) so i'm out of touch with you current game.
Can i have some honest answers as to what he'll offer our team and just how good is he, same for Adam Dykes if you know much on him.
I spent time in Oz 2 years ago so i am expecting the replies to be 60% pommie bashing and 40% rugby related.
I dont mind either. |
