Pleased with getting Danny "Ritchie" Rich in the draft, would have liked to have seen Ziebell pull on a lions jumper just to hear what Dennis Commetti has to say about it (to paraphrase another sports comedy kings gag) "Dalziell, to Ziebell, to Brown... I hope I promounced that last name correctly."
Oh well, he's the enemy now, sucks being you kid.
Rich and Ziebell are similar caliber players, Rich (and Ziebell for that matter) play a bit like Vossy, Luke Hodge and co, they give thier bodies and thier hearts in every game, just our greatest ever captain and our new coach used to.
Its what the club needs and I'm glad the Lions have got him.
And hey, he looks a bit like lukey Power.. I don't know what that means but it feels positive.
Let me tell you what our club has lacked since 2004.. its not Lynchy, its not Leppa, its not Darryl White... its Craig McCrae, its Shaun Hart, there are others like the Scott Boys, Chris Johnson and co. Boys you'd rather have on your side than someone elses. I believe that the Lions will address these deficiencies with the kids they've got , maybe not this year, but the addtion of Rich is a long term gain. Rich is our Voss, our Shauny Hart, Nick Davis is our McCrae, admittedly Davis is a short term gain, but he's required. In a year or so of the guys playing together, adapting to the coaches design.
It will be a rollercoaster, unfamiliar, thrilling, frustrating, heart breaking, powerful, depressing, triumphant and wonderful to experience.
... I for one can't wait for the ride to start.
