Re:team v geelong Reply to this message
Its a hip complaint, leigh said Brown's a 50-50 to play.
He also said if he misses this game, he doesn't want him captaining the Vics the following week!!

On the plus side, Ablett is a chance to miss with calf soreness.

Re:team v geelong Reply to this message
the media says that is why clark is in the side. But I would say the truth is that clark is in the side due to his form, and was always going to make the side once he got over injury and regained match fitness.

My understanding is that brown didnt train because of general soreness from the game on sunday... and note that the lions only had 1 session this week. He didnt injure himself on the weekend, and he hasnt trained so couldnt of injured himself there. Just a bit of soreness that a few days rest will fix.

Mcleod at the crows had the same problem a few weeks back

Clark is a good inclusion... he is a tall forward who can take defensive pressure off brown and bradshaw, whilst being able to get goals by crumbing at ground level... he is just what the lions need. I remember the game he play against the pies last year when they were to busy double teaming brown. Clark made them pay by kicking 5 goals.

I hope to see clark stay in the team (no injuries) so he and bradshaw can make oppositions pay when they get to brown focused

Re:team v geelong Reply to this message
Bad signs people. Browny couldn't complete training and is a chance to miss the game this week. Thats why Clark is in. In case Brown doesn't play.

Re:team v geelong Reply to this message
spose no change for the cats isnt that bad, considering they were well down on their best last week, and it also means some may play injured, and be a chance to re-injure during the game.

Re:team v geelong Reply to this message
After the dream team spilt round we should have a healthier list of players Drummo and the Irish and Roe will all be in the mix for selection and we will be looking good.
McGarth on mackie sounds good to me Albie Proud back in MMMM I tthink this is clever him and power are quick and small like Bartel and Gabblet Proud has a bit of pickett in him and likes the hard stuff.Scotty Harding was good at clearing the ball but his disposal was aversge at best we can not do that Vs the cats like the team hope we win and Jay Brown kicks a bag.Top8in08

Re:team v geelong Reply to this message
selwood needs to set up and shut a player out of the game, this is his moment of truth in my eyes

great to see clark in the side... he will prove a difficult makeup for the cats.

Pround should be primed for a big one, and he will cover the loss of Cornes in my dreamteam... phew!

Re:team v geelong Reply to this message
WTF? johnstone is out with a hammy!

In: McGrath, Clark, Selwood, Proud
Out: Travis Johnstone (hamstring), James Polkinghorne (knee), Lachlan Henderson, Scott Harding

good to see clark in, and i understand the reasoning behind selwood. now we can tag ablett AND bartel, lol

Re:team v geelong Reply to this message
In regards to where to play black... he needs to stay in the middle and get us the hard balls. Others need to step up around him to run and clear the ball. It is difficult to tagg a player out of a game if he is going in for hard balls and quickly feeding off

Re:team v geelong Reply to this message
For me, i reckon charmo should be the backup ruckman, but kept on the ground as a fwd, and REALLY fast-track berger's development. Let him get the rising star award, and show some of the other club's what they skipped in the draft.

Of course i wouldn't suggest doing that this week against Geelong. The Carlton game would be perfect for it, to try it out.

Re:team v geelong Reply to this message
Also, Ling is still injured isn't he? He's having a much smaller impact on games the last couple of weeks with his ankle.
Split the difference. Play black in the middle the first half. If he's having no impact, throw him fwd. Break the tag. Then play him back in the middle in bursts.
Or have him play very physical against Ling to 'test' that ankle...
Although Ling seems to handle himself physically, extremely well. The man is solid.
