Its looking all Lakers v Cavs far. Maybe Mavs as a smokey. As a Boston fan i got a say if we struggle with the Bulls then theres no chance we will beat Lakers or Cavs

Basketball isn't all Jordan. There's Wilt Chamberlain, Larry Bird, Hakeem Olajawon,Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Dwayne Wade and a few rising stars like Derrick Rose.

So what I'm saying is that Basketball isn't all about Jordan.

ohhhh my Kobe.... he dropped an amazing 61 on the Knicks at Madison Square Garden today..

it's funny we talk about the Wades, Lebrons and Garnetts but Kobe is the only one who's come close to matching some of Jordan's feats..

I think we could be witnessing possibly the second greatest basketball player of all time....

If James cant get the Cavs over the line then hows he going to get the Knicks over the line?

Been ages since I was last on this forum.. Anyway, I don't think LeBron can be blamed. Compare the role players in Cleveland with the role players surrounding Kobe in LA. Its not the player's fault - its management's fault.

slops has been the resident Blazers fan. I havent seen him around in a while but.

I dont trust the Knicks either. But i wonder. If James cant get the Cavs over the line then hows he going to get the Knicks over the line? It wont be by himself. It will be with another quality free agent lined up and maybe a couple of reverse sellouts (yeah cra p name, but players like Payton and Malone he took a cut to win a ring with the Lakers Kobe and Shaq. And didnt...)Who wouldnt want to bring an NBA title to the Apple? With James as a team mate! They havent one won since Travolta was still dancing.

Re:NBA 2008-2009 Reply to this message
hey who's the resident Trailblazers fan on this forum?

the way they acted over the Darius Miles issue was appalling and if its good enough for them to sack players to improve the 'Jailblazers' image then Blazers GM Kevin Pritchard should be gone as well...

but that's business huh? one set of rules for management and another set for the players...

I disagree neon. For many, many years the Knix where what you'd consider 'a successful franchise'.

Dolan's put together a good team in the FO, Walsh and D'Antoni can get the job done, and thus far they've cleared enough cap space to get not one, but TWO megastars in '10. Imagine Chris Bosh and LeBron James lining up together... if they can get players of that ilk, then they'll get other guys lining up to join them.

Re:NBA 2008-2009 Reply to this message
hey trev, I worry about James going to the Knicks as I don't trust them... I doubt they can assemble a championship team given the HUGE Garnett like salary Lebron will command and I wonder if it's just a publicity thing?

You know given the franchises problems, he could be just a cash cow for them to solve a few debts for their owner?

Lebron should only join IF James Dolan the Knicks owner goes... it's not coincidence that their ice hockey team the Rangers and the Knicks have su(ked completely since Dolan took over both of them!

if Cleveland cant put together the right combo to win a ring with James there, then they deserve to lose him to the Knicks.

Re:NBA 2008-2009 Reply to this message
LOL!!! It's been a fair while since I saw 3 teams completely dominate the league like the Lakeshow, Celts and Lebron's are doing now...

If Cleveland could get just somehow get 1 star and 1 quality player to help James than they could get their championship this season.... WTF is their GM Ferry doing?

Le Bron will end in NY, probaly a given. I dont believe Wade will leave Miami but that probaly depends on how much longer he has to carry them for to. And I think Boshie will end up playing for a team in Texas eventually because he grow up there i think and hes apparently pretty close to his family. Imagine Boshie in Houston? Whooaaa

Re:NBA 2008-2009 Reply to this message
if Lebron, D-Wade and Bosh are going to be free agents in 2010 why aren't their current teams looking to re-sign them or trade them before their contracts run out??

if those 3 players walk away through free agency, then Cleveland, Miami and Toronto will have nothing to show for all that time and money invested in developing them...

what are they waiting for??

Re:NBA 2008-2009 Reply to this message
back to basketball.... obviously the Celtics and the Lakers are the cream of the NBA...

may have to wait til the trade deadline to see if anyone can put together a roster to challenge those two and if not LA's title hopes all hinge on Bynum...

I can't see the Celtics beating LA with Andrew Bynum in the middle.. if I were a Laker fan I'd want him wrapped in cotton wool until the playoffs...

Ha!

netstar & Trev - I'm back (as trev is aware). Blog's running again, explanation as to why on the hiatus, and 2 posts up (a piece on Lamar Odom and a Power Ranking).

Hopefully a few new changes happening on the blog over the next month. Some site changes, and adding a forum.
I'm pretty excited over it actually...
Got to the stage before where it was a chore. I've a new focus, and it should help me!
