| -.-" Are you for real? Lol at you for thinking there is some sort of parity between the US and international game. You do realise that the international and the US games are entirely different? Many international players suck when they go over to the States, but at the same time, a team made up for US superstars could only beat Spain by 11 points (a team which has only 2 players with an NBA background, not including Garbajosa who only played 5 minutes). Case in point: The two games are different, many international players don't succeed when going over to the States (although a case can be made that it's improving), and finally your beloved American team would get their rears handed to them were they to go up against a full team of international players. |

| My direct attention to: lualcot & mandati, I am an aussie myself and you don't have to show so much fu-king patriotism towards your country by saying that Andrew Gaze is the best in everything he does which means you will basically kneel down and suck his c 0 c k even though he is the worst commentator of all time. Lualcot, if you ask any1 of the true basketball fans in the world, they will choose d**ck stockton and hubie brown over Gaze anyday because Hubie brown use to be a coach and he knows what's he talking about and they are actually very knowledgeble comments but of course you wouldn't know that because you guys are too busy waxing your assss so Gaze can jam it up there....you guys should go and make some comments on your AFL or cricket blogs instead of basketball....coz in my point of view, aussies are too proud of themselves that they decided not to follow the americans which i understand in a political point of view but they also decided to dump all sports which are related to the americans....eg basketball that is just pure racist to your own redneck kinds..that's why there is olympics which brings all the people around the world together through sports because they know you can't do it through politics or any other agendas. | Well if you are comparing him to other commentators as I have said I watched some ESPN commentators (probably poker commentators) and they stunk, they had not even completed any research on opposition players got their names wrong constantly and just blatantly made up rubbish sbout them, cut to replays of d wade layups instead of the game and their expert commentary from their college coach was lack lustre to say the least. Lets get real here we are comparing a man who has only just begun a commentating career with people like (could not write his first name due to yahoo's censorship) d**k stockton, hubie brown, etc who have been professional commentators for years. Would you rather good old bill woods or that other tosser from Fox sports who talks absolute rubbish constantly, at least we can get a great player's perspective, a player of his calibre has great insight into the game but at this stage is still biased. | Gaze only popular in OZ, he ain't anyone while playing for the spurs, just someone to fill the numbers. So was that while he was commentating ?? or was it while he was playing ?? You are just plain dumb when you compare the number of games he played in Olympic to us who is not real atheletes, and don't play ball as a living. This is two different topics, what i try to say is he sux at Commentating when compared to other commentators, but you try to compare him to us in how many games he played....god damn. | And of course, there are also some die hard nbl fans out there who patrioticly say that gaze is the best playa in Oz back in the days,yes well i do agree with that but only in the nbl, if he were to go to the nba in the 80s, he would get smack around like a little biatch by the detroit pistons bad boys, jordan got hammered by those guys, you tink they gonna take it easy on a white boy like Gaze?but thats not the point here, Gaze maybe a good play in Oz back in da days but his commentating skills really needs to be reevaluate. I mean yes he's a ball playa but that doesn't mean he's a good commentator, if you're a die hard bball fan, you watch the american commentator and compare it with the nbl commentator, you will see a huge difference!i once heard a nbl commentator gave kevin brooks a nickname the king of the riverboat gambler because he likes to gamble, i mean what kind of stupid nickname is that?are you actually encouraging young ppl to go gamble, that is a private hobby of his and should stay private because these bball playas are role model to the young aussies who watched the game. | Yes indeed the spurs needed gaze to humiliate himself and compare just how s.hi.t the best oz basketball playa really is. Forget about gaze, take jo jo english or darnel mee who play for chicago and denver back in da days, they were averaging 1.2 points per game and when they came to the NBL, they are 30 points scorer, do you see the standards now!!not to metion kevin brooks and acie earl and all that, and now lets get back to the spurs why they needed gaze to promote some tickets, well it was the 1999 season and it was a short nba season due to a lockout season that year and they only play 50 games, so they want to make sure ppl come and watch gaze play to sell more full house tickets fool!!Also the year before, they did tremendously bad and was last in the NBA with Dominique Wilkins as the only true scorer of that team and Duncan being just a rookie o they were not sure how the 98-99 season are gona be like, thats why they took Gaze!!Then lucky later Sean Elliot and avery johnson signed as free agent and return to the spurs to make that championship run....so go do some proper nba history research and actually qualify to be a true basketball fan (with facts to back you up) then come and talk to me about basketball!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

If you think Gaze was a poor commentator then you failed to hear the biased and ill researched and arrogant commentators provided by ESPN whilst covering the pre olympic game warmups for team USA. And for all you tools out there bagging Gaze's ability you truely are moronic. The was a fierce competitor, a pure shooter of the highest calibre and as one person has already stated ill suited to the NBA, due to his lack of size and speed which meant his defensive abilities were limited in the NBA where man on man defense was the only defense available. His lack of use was not down to him but the coahing philosophy of the team. I am actually old enough to have watched him play in the NBA and the only opportunities he got were during junk time so forget trying to talk about his stats in the NBA. His international perferomances and US college stats show his pure scoring prowess, in a time when he carried the Australian team. | He might be great to the OZ but doesn;t give him to right to judge and abuse the american players. A lot of OZs think they are the stongest sporting country, but in actual fact they are not. Passion towards the game is good, and we need this in sports, but when your team is losing and you start saying S.H.I.T that is what one call Sore Loser. |

| Gaze is probably the most talented ball player in Australian hisory, who's never made it big in the NBA. All those years with the Melbourne Tigers then playing for Seton Hall College, which made it to the NCAA Finals in which he played a vital roll in their offensive game. The Spurs who picked him up for a short term,but Gazes game did not suit the NBA style which is an athletic run and gun offense. Gaze! full marks to a guy who has done what only other ball players could dream of and I would think that he is a fine example of a sportsperson who has been a good ambassador for Australian Basketball. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
