| stupid 7 every bball game was stuffed up Even the womens game against USA started late and had stupid adds all the time. The final of the mens bball game to be cut short was a sick joke! Some big fat nerd who hates sports must have been in charge of the sports and did it all just to pee off sports fans!! He must of thought he was real funny interrupting the Olympics knowing that it would annoy half the nation!! Sack the lot of you I say!! | I'm so disgusted with Channel 7's treatment of the not only the basketball but the entire broadcast and not to mention Kerry Stokes saying only 400 people complained. That's because I can't find anywhere to send my complaint???? Does anyone have any idea where to email complaints to at Seven? Surely they'll have a whole department set up to respond to the millions of complaints? |

| I couldn't be more agreed!!!!! By switching to news with 9 minutes to go in one of the greatest match of basketball ever played in Olympics is unbelievable not to mentioned how many times we were forced to watch some advertisements when the game was on the way. I have to ended up frastratingly searching high & low for the outcome of the match and eventually found it like almost 2 hours later when they interview Andrew Gaze. Real smart chanel 7!!! | The coverage of the Basketball in particular was so poor with Chris Ditmar leading the coverage I turned off the sound during the Womens games and the mens coverage was only partially saved by Andrew Gaze who was great as he actually understood the game, I only took the trouble to register since Stokes said only 400 had complained about seven's coverage, It will be good for the advertisers to know that I swiched to SBS when the adds came on usually when play was underway, yet 7 were happy to film the time outs where nothing was happening, I would switch to watch handball rather than the adds, it will be great not to watch all the shows seven advertised what ever they are called! I agree with all the coments posted here, as to how poor the coverage was of the basketball, only the opening ceremony coverage was worse than the basketball coverage with the adds and the 7 logo that could doulbe for a light house, Thanks again for cutting out the last 15 minutes of the game to show the non-news and subjecting us to Ditmar, what a talent! I hope A Current Affair adds up the complaints here and fowards them to Kerry Stokes and channel 9 does a better job with the London Coverage, sorry I realise thats not good enough because 7 left the bar so low or in this instance the basket. |

| I am one of many that are currently loathing Channel 7 on the coverage of the games. i feel cheated During most of the basketball games, adverts would come on during a play and when I stoppage would occur after the return of the ad break they would break to another one. I just dont understand why they need to break away to another break advertise one of their new shows. Couldnt they run a banner across the bottom advertising their shows or one of their sponsors? Its just so disturbing when im watching a sport that I love so much interrupted by a plug for one of their new tv shows. Look at channel9 for instance and their coverage for NRL. They never break away to n advert while a game is live during play. They would use a banner to advertise their shows or sponsors and use their commentators to plug new shows.They did this at the aussie open, y not for the OGs? This is so much better to them breaking off in the middle of play for a break and missing crucial minutes in a 10 minute quarter. I just have to applaud SBS coverage of the OG. I have not one single flaw but the fact that they are not showing more of the games I would watch a full-uninterrupted game of the mens Basketball at the late hours of the night except for missing a majority of the game to adverts and losing the last quarter to the news/replays/drunken athletes. Id rather watch a full game of the boomers in a do-or-die match late at night except missing a quarter and half to females softball. Heck, id just like to watch basketball in full I just hope the IOC gives the coverage to channel9 since they cover sports excellently. If not, the internet connection would of improved in 4 years and a large part of australians will be watching it over the internet illegally. Makes me think as to why I relied on channel seven to broadcast the games rather than sopcast the game I love |

| I think so many bball fans are furious with ch 7. Most won't be bothered to create a yahoo account just to complain on this board like I did. Ch 7 never had any intention to show full bball games but they would never let sbs have them because they would lose a significant amount of viewers. I thought chris (ditmar?) commentary was a joke also, referring to the San Antonio Suns in one game and not knowing the pronunciation of some well known NBA players. like Gasol. I very much enjoyed Gazes commentary though. |

| I second that motion the coverage of the O.G was so bad it bored me and the coverage on the gold medal game put the icing on the cake it was pittiful. All I saw was swimming, swimming replays, replays of swimming replays, rowing, rowing replays, replays of swimming, adds and more adds, and swimming replays. The commentators where red hot, lmfao, obvious they are all the rejects channel 9 and 10 don't want. Get the hint channel 7, stick to Home and Away and better homes and gardens, and leave the real Shows and Sports telecasts to the Pro's at channel 9 and 10. They make you look like try hards.....which you are! |

| I think they will say that with the time constraints they can't show everything. But they can !!!! I got so sick of the replays of replays of replays that I turned it all off. I also felt some of the comentators were lacking. A few of them really didn't seem to know much about the sport they were describing. | Its shameful that the gold medal basketball game has inconveniently interrupted the McDonalds vs Toyota advertising cup spectacular. Seriously Channel 7, your coverage of all olympic events, particularly the basketball, has been absolutely shameful and disgusting. Adverts during a passage of play on the basketball court? Disgusting. You are privileged with the rights for the Olympics, yet you choose to inundate us with ads about your low-brow programs - wow, I'm looking forward to the hit new show 'Packed to the Rafters'. I'll assume it's a 15 minute program in an hour slot with 45 minutes of ads about your next hard hitting drama called 'How My Uncle Met Your Cat'. How about showing some sport instead of slow motion montages and news about who Stephanie Rice is pashing. After hearing 'A glamour girl is about to become a golden girl' in super-slow motion for the 112th time when I should have been watching the basketball, my TV is now in pieces via the loungeroom window. Get it together, show an event properly and have some respect for those of us who are forced to watch Channel 7 once every four years. |

I was really enjoying this close match when suddenly they cut to their regularly scheduled (and completely uninteresting) news programming with about 10 minutes left in the game. What kind of monkeys run this station? shame shame. Hopefully next olympics technology allows us to watch what we want when we want it - not having to rely on 'team knucklehead' at Channel 7. |

Switching to the news with 9 minutes to go in the Gold medal final of one of the most exciting games of the entire olympics... the producer of this operation should be tossed out on the street. terrible coverage. i guess it had to have australia in the final to be worthy of playing the entire game. then again, Australia needs their dose of tabloid journalism . good on ya Channel 7. top job. |

| Cutting off this game was equivalent to showing the first half of a movie. I'm not a die-hard fan of basketball, but this is a historic game! AND the news they interrupted with were SO IRRELEVANT, who cares which olympians got drunk last night, seriously! SHAME ON YOU CHANNEL SEVEN. | I understand that sponsors pay good money to have their name advertised during the Olympics... but to cut to commercials during the action for upcoming news and ads is infuriating. I'm watching the USA v Spain gold medal game and no less than twice in the 3rd quarter would they go to commercials while the game is on. Now we've lost the game to show news. Fair bloody chance the rest won't be shown afterward, might get a minute or two. Also... what's the reason behind showing some delayed events from the start and some from where they are at the time. The final game the Boomers played against the USA was the biggest game those guys have played... yet we only ended up seeing half of it. With the Aussies only down by 1 at quarter time they played their best ball of the Olympics but nobody will ever know how good. AFL is played every weekend for 6 months... the Olympics are played for 16 days every 4 years. If Channel 7 can't understand what's important to their viewers they need to wake up to themselves. I know of at least 2 people that won't be watching 7 any more, fair chance we're not the only ones. |

| First off I am so proud to be an Australian, watching all our competitors in all the different events, however, I hope 7 never get’s to cover another Olympic games. I love basketball my family has been involved with basketball since I was a kid. I really hope 7 if they get to cover the next games, take note of the general public’s complaints about their coverage of sport. I failed to see a swimming match cut half way through the race??? It's a shame to not be able to watch a full game of basketball at such an elite athletic level. It seems as tho if an athlete who is Australian wins a gold medal it’s more important than any of the other Australian athletes who win a silver bronze. I find that trivial we as a nation put so much emphasis on sporting stars to bring home the gold medals, but in hindsight we forget or give a lack of positive feedback for those who come home with other medals. We should be proud of all our competitors no matter the colour of the medal they bring home. I hope the opals can build from this learning experience and come back in 2012.
