5 players 5'10" and shorter have been drafted in the last 5 years.Nate Robinson is the "most " succesful of those which shows how unlikely it is that Mills will be drafted and if he is will be successful.

First off, he won't be guading SGs like DWade and Kobe. Also, Nate Robinson is having a solid season and he is only 5'9.

i have only seen pat mills play on tv, but a mate of mine went to see the boomers play nz and was just in absolute awe of him. by all reports, his speed is second to none. and if you have that type of speed, like chris paul or monta ellis, you can definately play in the nba regardless of your size. he is only in the first year of college, so i guess it is wait and see on how he pans out of the coming seasons.

but the other nba prospect we have who i am far more excited about is nathan jaiwi. he is a torres strait islander playing for cairns in the nbl. 6'11 and 130kg - so he is a big boy. but what amazes me most is the fact that he is lightning quick for his size, he can shoot the mid range jumper (and free throws too) and can jump out of the gym. i saw hime play live a few weeks ago and was just amazed by his potential. i have seen a few draft boards for next year and he is projected as a second rounder. he would never be a star in the nba but he could definately be a useful back up.

but moving forward with the boomers, if have bogut, jaiwi as the big men, joe ingles as the small forward (also list as a potential second rounder in next years draft), brad newley at shooting guard and pat mills at the point - the boomers could seriously be pushing for a medal at international level within the next 5 years. exciting times IMO.

He could do well in Europe if the NBA doesn't work out for him.

At only 5'10", he will have a tough time in the NBA. His skills are excellent, but he is going to get pushed around by the bigger (6'3" to 6'6") guards in the league.

If he was up against Kobe or D-Wade I doubt he would be able to stop them driving to the hole.

I caught most of that game on ESPN , he played really well and is just lightening fast.

I can't see him sticking in the NBA though he is just too short at 5'10" to last there. He might get picked in the second round but I doubt he makes it onto the roster.

The name is Patrick Mills, remember it as he will be drafted into the NBA...

I'm sure everyone remembers the Tony Parker like guard tearing up the Tall Blacks for the Boomers in the recent Beijing Olympics qualifiers...

Anyway Mills got a scholarship to US NCAA team St Mary's and in only his 4th game scored 37 points setting a record for the most points scored by a first year player for the school...

Hope to see him in the March Madness and he's a fantastic story for the Aboriginal community who's about to see their first NBA player!
