<<Baby Shaq has been selected no 41 pick for Indiana Pacers.
Congrats to him>>
the pacers actually selected on behalf of toronto because of the o'neal/ford trade, but still great for jawai nonetheless. i think there is a reasonable chance he could make the raps roster, and if not this year, then definately in years to come.
another great draft day for the blazers. traded up to get bayless (who i thought they had no chance of getting) and then turned the pick they bought off new orleans in batum (who i think is an absolute steal at 25). also thought new jersey did reasonably well and same with miami, who on top of getting beasley picked up mario chalmers too. not sure about the t'wolves trading mayo - i think this might come back and haunt them. love has bust written all over him IMO. |

| There's talk that Cairns Taipans C Nathan Jawai will get drafted 27th by the Portland Trailblazers to complement Oden.... could become the first Torres Strait Islander to make the NBA... crazy stuff! |

<<There should be plenty to choose from when the Pacers get to pick, including Robin Lopez, Darrell Arthur, Marreese Speigjts, Roy Hibbert and DeAndre Jordan.>>
Robin Lopez? Sheesh... I think he's a sure-fire bust. And so's his brother. Hibbert's a better pick. And so's McGee... even if he'll take a while to get there. |

Steve-o... it's 2008, not 2004.
JO's shot to pieces now, an injured shadow of his former self. JO's a great rebounder & inside scorer? Hasn't been for 18 months now.
Maybe he comes back, but good money says he doesn't play 80% of a season.
Fair call to trade TJ Ford... but for O'Neal?
Sheesh... |

The trade was great for the Raptors. Jose Calderon and T.J. Ford were not going to coexist peacefully, so Bryan Colangelo did the smart thing: He got a player the Raptors needed.
Jermaine O'Neal allows Chris Bosh to play his natural position of PF. The Raptors now have two players who are both great rebounders and inside scorers.
The Pacers did pretty well in this deal as well. They got rid of Jermaine's contract, and managed to grab a PG. They have pick 11 and 17 so they can get some big men. There should be plenty to choose from when the Pacers get to pick, including Robin Lopez, Darrell Arthur, Marreese Speigjts, Roy Hibbert and DeAndre Jordan. |

| thats how they got fernandez last year too (who some think would be a lottery pick this year) and maybe sergio the year before. its great having a filthy rich owner (although all people who own an nba team are filthy rich, i mean a filthy filthy rich owner) who doesnt mind just blowing 3 million for a pick. |

| blazers have reportedly brought N.O's pick (number 27). i gotta say, draft day is super exciting as a blazers fan since pritchard took over. he LOVES wheeling and dealing and i reckon this pick is gonna be used to trade up or used in combination with 13 pick (and possibly other assets) to aquire some kind of vetern PG (hopefully). its getting exciting. |

I am glad I made you laugh don.Dont mind me I was half drunk at the time.
I think my point was that after a well played series a player can either grow from it or think they have made it now and go downhill and I expect rondo to be in the grow from class but as you say he could go downhill.I dont think garnett and co will let him .
Anyway on to the draft ,i hope its not a boring affair i want to see some big trade baby..I would love to see miami put another star beside wade and marion and see how they roll. |

Yup Trev, Shaq really puts the 'c' in rap.
Netstar, had it up on my site yesterday. You're slow!
http://with-malice.com/2008/06/24/sigh-kids/
And have you noticed that Shaq cannot win a title without assistance from a guy the quality of Kobe or Dwayne Wade?
Shaq's turning into a petulant child. Ripping into Ewing/Kareem didn't help him at all. Lost his two sheriff badges too over it.
I guess getting old isn't sitting well with him. |

maybe the Lakers should consider trading Odom to Phoenix for Shaq as it seems that's the only way Kobe can win a ring??
LOL... that was just a little something for you, don :P |

It's typical for the fans of every team that wins a title, immediately post that title to start crowing 'repeat?'...
And whilst I doubt that Boston head down Miami's path - very different team make-ups - to repeat in this day and age is very, very difficult. |

| as great as Boston's championship was, no way knowing they will repeat with that lineup.... I keep picturing Miami...let's hope these Celtics don't end up in the same boat |
