Gotta give the lakers credit for big wins over the hornets and the spurs.
I can see Kobe averaging 40 for the playoffs.. |

And with the Hornets loss today, the Lakers move into top spot.
Not too shabby for a team that hasn't had a full roster all season. |

| The reverse dunk Don? Pretty sweet. The Hornets arent going to go real deep in the playoffs when there playing that kind of defence. The key way was bare and Kobe had time to pretend he was playing during All Star weekend... |

Nice win to LA...
Had 'em down by 30 tho' - good comeback by the Hornets.
Anyone see Kobe's dunk? That was sick... |

| I just put a carton of beer on Planet Orange to get knocked out in the first round. At the moment id be looking at a Jazz match up which id be pretty happy with. Even better, hopefully they drop slightly and they match up aginst the Spurs. The sweet sweet smell of cerveza.... |

| Chris Paul is my pick this year for MVP. He has done great things leading New Orleans this year. If he does get it will be well deserved. |

b) the very reason he HASN'T won one is 'political reasons'...
Thats beside the point and i agree BUT that doesnt mean he should now win it just to make up for previous mistakes whick seems to be what is happening..I will be quite happy for kobe to win it as long as its for the right reasons.
Those were my comments you replied to my bro forgot to log off.. |

| Even with Dirk the Mavs didn't seem like they had what it takes to go all the way this year. I am starting to be well impressed on how the Suns are gelling at the moment and the impact Shaq is now having. Could very well be considered a strong contender for the conference. |

| And Dallas have further woes with Nowitzki going down hurt, he'll be out for about 2 weeks. Absolutely devastating this time of year. |

Interesting to see that Dallas after the Kidd trade are really struggling whereas the Suns have started to play well with Shaq.
They seem to be getting Shaq more involved offensively after starting off with him just rebounding and defending , and Amare has stepped things up offensively since his arrival. |

| The last few games have been important. No Gasol, no Bynum... yet the Lakers beat Dallas-in-Dallas, and Utah-in-Utah. |

LeBron should lose out on the MVP race because his team isn't good enough which is what has cost Kobe a chance to win the MVP in the past as well.He will be 3rd or 4th in the voting most likely as the guy with the best stats in the league but whose team doesn't dominate.
If KG hadn't missed so many games I would have him as favourite but as he did without much drop off in the Celtics performance that puts him out of the race for me for the top spot.
That leaves Paul and Kobe who both have the stats and the team performance to be worthy MVP's.Barring a big drop off in the Lakers record to finish the season I'd think Kobe will win it over Paul.
prediction:
1 Kobe
2 Paul
3 LeBron
4 KG |

Last time I checked, Charles Barkley wasn't the end-game as far as the MVP goes...

Charles Barkley says :
"If I was going to give it to somebody in the East, I would give it to Kevin Garnett because they've got the best record, but the West is much tougher, much better competition,"
"Chris Paul has been a one-man wrecking crew. But Kobe Bryant is the best player we've got in the NBA. You've got an injured Bynum, working Gasol in and now Gasol is out, and to still have the best record in the [West], that's why I would give the MVP to Kobe Bryant."
See... no mention of Lebron... so forget about him... for this season anyway :) |

<<Why would you cross LeBron out?>>
my sentiments exactly. i was wondering if i had missed something.
if anything, i would have garnett out, and the mvp rce would be between le bron, paul and kobe. and to be honest, i would be happy with any of those three - they have all had mvp years as far as i am concerned. |

<<I still think the Lakers will lose today, and slip down the ladder.>>
And your absence speaks louder than words. |
