Updated 11:11 pm: UP to 20 illegal immigrants are rioting inside the Maribyrnong Detention Centre.
Police in riot gear have now entered the facility.
Sources confirmed the Chinese inmates had smashed windows and doors.
It is believed they were among 39 Chinese nationals arrested at a Warrnambool abattoir on March 11.
