| The problem is that 22 weeks cannot give a fair schedule when there are 16 - 18 teams involved, and no matter what the draw is, some teams will benefit and some will suffer |

| if you played at etihad or the mcg week in week out, surely you would feel a rather homely feeling. calaculate the draw for all vic teams, and work out how many travel outside of victoria. |

| i think you will find the draw is designed for revenue purposes, and also to get as many victorian teams playing finals as possible, thereby avoiding what the AFL feared in an interstate dominance come finals time and the contract to do with finals being played at the MCG in jeopardy. |

Actually Collingwood are by far the biggest draw card in any city...
The other 9 Vic clubs would be lost without them and us interstaters love when they visit..
Collingwood will always be stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to the season draw..
Time to find something else to whinge about i feel, me included. |

Actually you will find Collingwood travel four "fixtured" times a year as do so many other clubs. Then we usually play an interstate final against Adelaide, however this time it was at the MCG.
And the reason for so many games at the MCG is driven by other teams requesting that their home game is against Collingwood at the G.
This is for obvious monetary return.
Geelong for example, always request to play Collingwood at the G and have jumped up and down in recent years when it has been fixtured at Etihad.
It has been a long time since they have wanted a Collingwood game at Kardinia Park.
This was all explained by the AFL after this last fixture was released.
But the same people will always carry on whinging about conspiracies, and Eddy involvement, when in actual fact, it's just that the AFL are trying to appease the requests of other clubs.
Collingwoods record on the road is outstanding so why do people continually bring this up?
It's just shows the sour grapes and gives me a chuckle to read. |

Getting back to the Collingwood draw and Malthouses comments, the 2010 draw is really no different to the usual Collingwood draw - it is just the way the teams finished on the ladder that has changed
Collingwood generally travels interstate 3-4 times a year, and invariably play Carlton, Essendon, Melbourne and Richmond twice
If the Vic teams fire and esp if these four teams fire , then Collingwood's draw is a nightmare.
If , like in 2003, the interstate teams fire ( six out of the top 7), Collingwood get a dream draw. |

<< not many teams kick 10 goals in a quarter then just take the foot off the pedal to "allow" teams back in the game. >>
Can imagine the response from Yars if the Crows led by ten goals in the first quarter, then spent the entire second half chipping the ball around their back line , or is it only negative coaching/hopeless spineless footballers when another team does it. |

"Not many teams CAPITULATE as easy as Port is what you mean"
i think with laidley and hocking arriving, you wont see the same rubbish we dished up this year. doesnt say much for the rest of the comp when we played *** and still manage to push for finals. still a young list developing so next few years should see them on the rise and back on the road to be a consistent winning team. |

"Good idea, lets all apply to play Port more often..."....
ironic the amount of times port has beaten the crows, and even when we had poor form and rebuilding, we can slap you lot around and win.
i think you will find last year, we threw games away we clearly should of won. that doesnt seem to be an easybeat team, moreso one of frustration and laziness. not many teams kick 10 goals in a quarter then just take the foot off the pedal to "allow" teams back in the game.
so let me guess, if port get up in the clash against the crows in the pre season cup, you of course we be saying "it doesnt count, early days, we didnt try hard, had injuries etc etc..." the usual twaddle you two faced crows fans apply when you lose. the crows should romp it in seeing we are such an easybeats team.....hahaaaa |
