| been a little while since this has been on the 1st page at yahoo :) After 2 premierships we have lost a total of 3 premiership players, not a bad effort considering the number of AA players we have had in that time as well as 2 Brownlow medalists & a NAB rising star, good effort by the guys to stick together, to take the paycuts to keep the team strong. |

| doc, one thing I have found funny about the Cats winning the granny this yr is that 12 months ago one "brown nose" that you speak of kept having a go at the City of Geelong for lack of support for the footy club after the loss - "they took the flags down for the 1st time in 18months blah blah blah" all b/s anyway. But this yr we have won the granny and it took a couple of days for half the flags to be replaced with "Premier City" and Cat logo flags, a week after the game the original Cats flags which had been flying had been removed to promote the Cycling World Championships which are on in 12months and a couple of days ago they removed the premiership city flags to promote the Geelong show. So it seems win or lose once it gets to October the council moves on from the footy club and onto whatever else is happening in the city. Wonder what b/s fos will come up with as an excuse for it this yr. but like you with the continual bumping of this thread, I can't forget this win. 07 came to easy I think and this win is so much better and one to really enjoy because as we saw last yr things don't always work out the way you would hope. Gotta enjoy the win while you can. |

| ohhhh, you mean I can't tell brownoz to get over the Hawks 2008 premiership if the Hawks are to ever have success again :) I will enjoy it this week, see who wins the b&f tonight and by the end of next week know what our chances are like for next yr. Gotta be happy for what we have achieved but in 6 weeks the hard work starts again for the guys and 2010 is a new season with new challengers. |

| nah i agree totally with you, i was pretty pissed after that. the umps have loved the saints all year. just saying to the people who somehow think they were robbed with hawkins goal that the umps levelled it out with the most ridiculous free ive ever seen. 2 weeks in a row, pathetic frees paid, and twice to the favour of the saints in pivotal moments directly in front of goal, hmmmmm. oh well too bad, cats still the greatest!!!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| That is a ridulous free and it's such a big penalty to pay in a close game and in a grand final. After a goal where does play recomense? At the center bounce not at the top of the goal square. If they must give a free for such a nothing thing it should be at the center of the ground and even then the free should only be given if the umpire is actually abused and not just having the question asked. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| yeah for all we know someone may have said something through the umpies earpiece straight after the hawkins goal. because that milburn free was absolutely shocking. so at that time the umpies were looking for any reason to even the score so to speak, and pounced on milburn. in the end though, they cancel each other out and the cats still win anyways. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
