1 week.thats a joke...If lions supporters agree with that then we know they are just biased towards there own team.Had another player from another club of done that to a brisbane player, they would of been asking for his head.

Re:Lions Season Over. Reply to this message
Jared Brennan, Brisbane Lions, has been charged with a Level Four headbutting offence against Josh Carr, Port Adelaide, during the fourth quarter of the Round 14 match between the Brisbane Lions and Port Adelaide, played at AAMI Stadium on Saturday July 4, 2009.

In summary, his previous good record means that his three-match sanction for the offence can be reduced to a two-match offence with his five-year good record and then reduced further to a one-game penalty with an early plea.

The incident was assessed as intentional conduct (three points), medium impact (two points) and high contact (two points). This is a total of seven activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Four offence, drawing 325 demerit points and a three-match sanction. He has a five-year good record, which reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 243.75 points and a two-match sanction. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 182.81 points and a one-match sanction.

Brennan and Syliva have been given three-game bans, while Chaplin faces a fortnight off and Daniel Pratt and Mark Austin were given one-game suspensions.

Sylvia was charged with striking Scott Selwood. His previous poor record means that his three-match sanction must remain at three matches, even with an early plea.

Chaplin, hit with a charging offence against Daniel Rich. He also has a previous poor record, meaning a guilty plea cant save him from a two-match sanction

Re:Lions Season Over. Reply to this message
besides, what does any of this have to do with Selwood anyway?
The guy got charged with a level 4 offence but cops the same penalty as the guy who is charged with a level 3 offence - that's what's not right.

you really need to get over your jealously of Selwood & the Cats, really isn't helping ya out at all

Lion Jared Brennan has been charged with a level four headbutting offence against Josh Carr but can escape with a one-match ban with an early guilty plea because of a good record.

Re:Lions Season Over. Reply to this message
Johnson had a sore hip, should play this weekend, but it was the type of injury that if he played last week & did more damage he would have missed 3 or 4 weeks. Better to miss 1 now then to miss more as the season deepens.

Re:Lions Season Over. Reply to this message
We lost yesterday but it wasn't our best match, the better team won. I think the finals atmosphere didn't help much but that is no excuse as we have played finals the last couple of seasons and should have been used to that idea. We just weren't ready to play, the Saints had a great start & they always were going to after what the Tigers did to them last week in the 1st qtr.

Should be a good game this weekend, Cats should have a better start & won't want to be sluggish at the start. Hopefully we will see a couple of changes to the side with Johnson coming back & West playing his 2nd match for the season. How will your ruckmen go against a rookie and a 7 gamer?

Re:Lions Season Over. Reply to this message
you're very spritely brat - your first test since the GF and the Cats failed again...I think that teh real problem here was that teh match was touted as a Final - - if it hadn't have been beaten up as it was and was simply left as a home and away match you probably would have won easily! LOL!

Re:Lions Season Over. Reply to this message
Jonathon Brown (aka Herman Munster) can't always be the focal point. That's where Richmond will be better off without Richo (love him to death) as the focus. He said earlier this year that his goal was not to be the main goal scorer for the season. Maybe Jonathon should consider stepping away as the main gun, reinventing himeself much the same way as Richo has.
