Re:Round 14 (PREVIEW)
I don't think you guys will win the granny, I have now ruled that out, but you could still play finals and even just 1 match may give some kids a bit of experience for next season.
Tonight wasn't very good for the Hawks, where was the heart? Maybe a bit more emotion from the guys might be a good thing, to show pain after a performance like they had tonight can't be a bad idea.
nikki, what do you think Clarko should do with guys like Croad & Williams - get them ready for the last few games now that your season does look over or make sure they are 100% for 2010? One thing they spoke about on the tv tonight was that Croad is out of contract at the end of the season, so a reason they may want to see him playing this yr is to see if he will breakdown, reinjuring his foot to know if its worth while to offer him a new contract, rather then offer him the contract he signs on and then goes down during the preseason. Considering the service Croad has given the Hawks I thought a 1yr extension should be on the cards to see how he does go in his recovery from the injury.

brat feeling better today....
I am still obviosly disapointed in the hawks as we know thay can play beter than that...and i think thats where the frustration comes from, weknow we are a good team but just HAVENT put it together this year....
So your question what IMO should clarko do in regards to the croads and the rest of the year,,,
Untill there is no possible mathematical chance we can make the finals, then we start to play the younger players and give thm the opp, but if or when that happen we NEED to play with hunger drive agression and want.
If they played like that all year and didnt wina agame i would not be unhappy, i was shattred on sat coz we didnt have a go.
On croad if hes fit play him dont bring him back early but if hes able and 100% yes play him. |

i dont know brat, i just dont know.
I am still shellshocked to be honest,
to go from a fantastic run up to the grannie last year and playing with heart and toughness and teamwork to beng goaless at half time and be trainling by such a demoralizing score, i am just speechless..
We left at half time, Hubby would of stayed but i had to leave before i went nuts.
I listened to it on the train and thank fark i left when we did...
I'll have to get back to you on those q's during the week, i just cannot be positive after tonights belting. |

I honestly thought the Hawks would show more tonight then they did. The Demons would have beaten them based on tonights performance.
The Hawks can still make the 8 but they are making things very difficult for themselves. |

plus I was given sh!t last yr for not tipping them at all, but can't be accused of that this yr.
The Dogs should win the match. But if the Hawks are going to turn there season around and show they can still challenge they will need to start this week. They beat the Dogs it will give them a lot of confidence going fwd, they lose and the pressure will only increase, so I expect them to come out firing and show they shouldn't be discounted, |

| I originally was going to tip the Dogs, but then I was looking at some of my tipping stats from the yahoo tipping comp, and while some of my stats seem to be missing (we are in rnd 14 and adding up the numbers for my tip to win & tip to lose only adds up to 8 or 9 for eacg team), it shows that for the Hawks, I have tipped them 6 for a winning percentage of 15%, while I have tipped against them once and they won that match. So basically, nearly every time I have tipped them this yr they have lost, so I'm using the idea of reverse psychology :P |

Game at a time... Dees vs West Coasting!
This is not a gimmee Road Kill Cafe for the Eaglets, long way from the nest, with Jones & Fletcher to spare Kerr from a "Honeymoon Strain" and his #1 Discriminators, the Umps, for a week. Perhaps that is the only remedy, a few weeks to get under the "Indignation Radar" of them who "WILL" be obeyed!
No Cox, against a side that almost pumped them at Subi, courtesy of wayward kicking and running outa gas in the 4th.
Jimmy Stynes may be an emotional spur and I expect Natty will get the treatment, which in fairness, he handled reasonably well. Dees will likely enjoy momentum out of the clearances with Davey, Bruce, Sylvia and Brad Green however, Rosa was really good at Subi as was Scott and Adam Selwood, if Priddis can help lift Ebert and Masten, WCE are a chnce but, if Masten plays as he did at Subi last time out, he will take too long, as he sometimes does and turn it over cheaply.
West Coast by 11 points, because I'm hoping they are on the way back, and they have lost by small margins at least 5 times that should have been wins. |

For the Lions, Dalziell, Notting, Johnstone all put up their hands for senior selection with good performances in the magoos. Dalziell had 40 touches so his knee seems fine and to be honest appears the only likely inclusion for me, as the other 2 I think have to work harder to get back in the side, particularly Johnstone, after sub-standard performances. Leunberger is still 6 weeks away at best, Drummond will have a test, Selwood still 3-5 away and Charmo gone for the year. Having said that, Clark is knocking on AA door in the ruck at the moment so they haven't been sorely missed, and Brennan keeps going from strength to strength. Matt Tyler made a good comeback in the magoos too kicking 7 as a KPF, and can play ruck also. Collier also played a blinder, and with his foot speed and ball use could push for selection soon also. |

BRETT Ratten will take out selection table retribution this week following the Blues' embarrassing capitulation last Friday night.
Ratten said there will be others left behind with injured defender Paul Bower when the team flies to Perth later in the week to play Fremantle.
"There could be up to three or four changes depending how it all pans out," the Blues coach said today.
