If you kick to B1 and B2 and it works, why not keep doing it. Brisbane has the same number of wins as the Pies, yet the Brisbane gameplan and their coach are flawed???
Brisbane lost to the Blues by less than a goal, because Fev run rampant with three tall defenders out , and the Lions lost at home to Collingwood when they had two players only on the bench. Apart from a belting by Geelong, Lions have been okay.
It is fine to have alternative game plans, but when your two leading ruckmen and three key defenders are absent, you stick to what works.
what will plan B for Collingwood be when the Collingwood flop is pulled up by the umpires, and they are smashed at the stoppages by the top 3 teams???
Judging by their performance against the Saints, there wasnt one. Oh, but lets ignore that , and just focus on the perceived Lions weaknesses. |

I have to agree with syndrome. Brown & Bradshaw will dominate against teams with weaker defenses, but they struggle against teams with a solid back 6 - did Voss even try a plan B or plan C against the Cats because they only kicked 5 goals, 3 from Brown, and 1 each from Sherman & Rich.
Will the Lions be competitive against top teams come finals time or be too reliant on B1 & B2 |

Wrong chucker. I have the utmost respect for Voss as a player and three time Premiership Captain.
I'm sorry if I don't praise him as a coach yet but lets wait and see how he goes.
Obviously he will improve on Matthews last season because I don't believe that the players were in it for lethal.
But are you really satisfied with Voss?
He's doing okay but your effort against Melbourne was just the same old plan. Kick it to B1 and B2.
That won't work against top sides.
i thought he was changing your game plan but it looks like JB might be the bigger influence again |

Brisbane supporters have nothing nice to say about Buckley, and Pies supporters have nothing nice to say about Voss. |

Give up nathan. You sound like a spoilt brat.
Buck's is in the drivers seat here, he hasn't missed anything.
He still says he wants to assistant coach elsewhere but as has been pointed out, he is getting that much money thrown at him he may not be able to refuse.
Your coach would have been at Carlton if he hadn't put such a ridiculous price on his head. |

| again when it comes to Buck$ i don't think Lions or Bears fans will ever have a decent thing to say about him- After all he couldn't get away from the club fast enough. Bit like Motlop at North most Roo fans try and put him down to feel themselves better. |

| bucks has lost nothing, why would he say yes to anyone at this stage before he knows all his options?? If the Pies stick with Malthouse (I think they will) then you could see Bucks at the Roos for 2 years before moving back to the Lexus centre. |

| they negotiated with buckley via video conference...before they spoke to williams. just not enough dollars. buckley has been offered more from other clubs, but im guessing he held back waiting to see where Port was at. He knows he is sought after. C rok*** er will coach the Roos, but i dont see Rawlings at Richmond. Buckley will end up at Collingwood as an assistant. McGuire will give him the deal and dollars he wants. Williams basically said if you aint goin to extend my contract, then give the job to buckley. they voted to keep him, told him so but also with a dropped salary. take it or leave it basically. williams hasnt been offered anything from elsewhere. the thing is, he may have been given a 2 year extension, whether he takes it or not is still up in the air. Fact is williams can hold the club to ransom and walk out if he chooses, or sit there until the rest of the year without having to make a decision. A doubt he would, but legally he can. He has a contract til the end of the year. The board had to tell him mid year whether they would extend. They have said yes, but he may choose to quit and go elsewhere. Im guessing you may find Williams at collingwood with buckley assistant. Malthouse needs to play finals and make a grand final. |

| Port loses...bucks doesnt...the bride knows he is worth more than the pultry sum they offered him on friday...well the club hasnt got the money....oh if only alan scott was still alive. Williams would be gone, buckley and hardwick would both be at the club next year and paid well. Williams took a pay cut, and i guess that does at least show he is a dedicated port man, so im sure many will respect him for doing so, the thing is, as much as many fans wanted change, the thing is, with the club in financial trouble, getting in untried inexperience people may not necessary be a good thing. brisbane has all the necessary resources available as do carlton with ratten. when u have an open cheque book, it does make a difference to how you proceed in your coaching tenure. a lot of port players have made sacrifices. they were offered contracts elsewhere or were targetted, stuck with the club and took lesser wages, maybe greed does play a role cos some of them just dont seem to put the effort. pay them more and they might spark up, but then again, they may spend too much time signing autographs at training sessions rather than learn how to kick and handball properly again. |

seems like buckley has lost again. mark williams gets an extension to his contract and big bucks get shafted once again in what is becoming a career made up of being a bride.
