Re:todays feel good story Reply to this message
I totally agree with you brat, the Hawks appear to have an enormous future in years to come but before Alistair Clarkson can be rated he must get the Hawks across the line on grand final day. Even rbrownozes pet hate Terry Wallace failed by only 2 points to play off in a grand final and rbrownoze doesnt even rate him. So whilst the Hawks appear definite premiership material under the leadership of Clarkson they still have to prove themselves come finals time.

Re:todays feel good story Reply to this message
Doesn't Clarkson and Hawthorn need to actually win a premiership before you can talk about Clarkson being rated as one of the greatest coaches ever?
Neither he nor Hawthorn have proved anything yet other then the fact they can win some matches during the yr - its September that matters and until they win then he could be well remember as a coach of a team with great potential that went nowhere - like St Kilda has done the last few yrs.

Re:todays feel good story Reply to this message
i think clarko will be rated one of the greatest ever coaches bringing a side in the modern era back, sheedy took 27 years to just win a low 4 flags clarko looks set to do so in half that time in a 16-18 team competition
goes to prove when selecting coaches you must take care in todays game, look at teams such as freo, rich and adelaide they just went for the bloke that seemed ok now they are all just making up numbers

Re:todays feel good story Reply to this message
haha one for you GT.....

The Sydney Swans and Essendon will play for the ‘Marn Grook Trophy’ on Sunday at ANZ Stadium.
The annual clash between the Swans and the Essendon Bombers has been played for the spectacular Marn Grook Trophy since 2002.

The meaning of Marn Grook translates to ‘Game Ball’.

It is believed in the 1840s, the founder of Australian Rules Football - Tom Wills - observed a game of Marn Grook and believe it would be a good way for Australian cricketers to keep fit in the winter.

Marn Grook is the name given to a corroboree by the Djabwurrung and Jardwadjali clans in Victoria's Western District, which was probably the inspiration for Australian Rules Football.

The traditional game was played with a ball made from possum skin about the size of an orange which was filled with pounded charcoal and/or grass and was tied hard with Kangaroo sinews.

This was kicked and tossed by two opposing teams of up to 50 players.

pity your club has to rely on the AFL to run your site!
