who gives a sh!t about what songs they sing its not a singing contest - its a game of football between the BEST of the BEst not the best players a club can afford or get throught the draft or trade for!

Surely the players from Richmond, Freo and Eagles (would include Melb & Essendon but don't think they have any players in the teams) have enough trouble remembering their own theme song due to the lack of regular singing and now you expect them to learn a new song - bit rough ain't it.

And I do know Richmond have been unlucky this yr - should have sung the song on at least 2 more occasions.

the Vics sing the North Melbourne song .... i'd say cause its the best!!!!

if the Allies were serious , they sing the 'ol WWII Roll out the Barrel, which has the line , roll out the Barrel , we've got the Blues on the run .!!! Which of course refers to the Germans and the Vic's wear blue.

I don't know the Vics song because I am not Victorian! The last time Origin was played I was in Nth QLD and we didn't get it on telly - the last time I got to see Origin was in 1994 I think - I was 14!

Maybe the Allies could sing - "so happy together"

I bet none of the players know it!

Maybe the Dream Team can just sing the national anthem, 'the thing about football' or 'up there cazaly'!

Here is a bit of interesting reading for those of you that think there is no point in this game:

---
The desire of AFL players to be part of Saturday's Hall of Fame game has been vastly underestimated, according to Western Bulldogs coach Rodney Eade.

Eade said players from every club, even those with injuries, were anxious to take part in the game which pits Victoria against a Dream Team at the MCG.

"I think the public and media underestimated the actual pull of the game," Eade said.

"I think all players have said really that they do want to play, there's a real passion for them to be out on the stage."

Brisbane's Jonathan Brown, Eagle ruckman Dean Cox and Bulldog star Adam C00ney were all prepared to line up despite nagging problems, he said.

"I think if you don't want to take any risks that's fine but what Jonathan has said, and Dean Cox and Adam as well, even though they're carrying some injuries, they really do want to play."

Eade said he had encouraged his players to take part rather than shelter them from possible injury and would only have withdrawn C00ney if he had a more serious problem.

---
The PLAYERS want it, surely that is all that counts. If they were genuinely concerned with injury they would sit out. For these guys it is an honor to be selected, we should acknowledge this by getting behind the game.

WA would actually take more players from outside the two local sides I'd think. Buddy, Bateman, Williams from Hawthorn, Davis, Lockyer, O'Brien, Medhurst from the 'Pies, Black and Luenberger from the Lions etc.

But yeah, SA is basically Port and Adel with a few 'top ups'.

Basically the WA team is the best of WC and Freo with a few extras, SA team is best of Crows and Port with a few extras - the advantage of those 2 teams would be that majority of the players play in the same team/s each week, where as the Vics the make up is spread across more teams, so they should get an extra week training together.

Leon Davis too.

Then again SA is pretty impressive - Bassett, Rutten, Johncok, Porplyzia, Bock, Enright, Griffen, Gibbs, C00ney, Didak, Pavlich, Stokes, Davey's, Burton, Lade, Brogan, Cornes', S.Burgoyne etc.

don't forget to add Joel Corey to the side - WA would put up a solid fight and it would make for a fantastic match against the Vics

A WA side right now Kinger (if all were fit) would be as strong as the state has produced wouldn't it.

Guys like Cox, Sandilands, Luenberger in the ruck, Buddy, Medhurst, Farmer and Williams up front, Black, Bateman, Lockyer, Carr's and Kerr on the ball and Glass and McPharlin down back (to name but a few). Though a bit light on in 'talls' in key positions perhaps.
