| Fair enough 9" BUT I'm still to be convinced one way or the other. We did smash you guys last season as you pointed out. Good teams don't get smashed as a rule. This is 2008 and things may have changed. I'll rethink it later in the year. |

| Actually GT, I think the Hawks of recent times tend to hang in and fight too - in fact on the couple of occassions we got flogged by 70 last season (Crows and Swans) I'm pretty sure we won the last quarter, or at least held the margain, both times. On both of those occassions we were killed in the first half. One thing we must overcome, and Luke Hodge said this too, is the stupid mistakes that we tend to do at crucial times. Whether it be a silly free kick and 50m penalty or a poor passing option that provides an easy turnover. Another is the sudden urge to go sideways and backwards and play keepings off for no apparant reason. The way we played against the Dees in rd 1 is attractive, fluent and, above all, effective. If we stick to the game plan we will do ok. I think with experience that these issues will be sorted out. I am really looking forward to seeing how this season unfolds - and not just from a Hawks perspective, I think it will be as close as we've seen! |

| In comparison, the Swans fight games right out until the last whistle. They always believe they are a chance to win even when 7 goals down at 3/4 time and play as such. Even have been known in recent times to haul back big margins in the last quarter to snatch victory. Big balls and much guts at the Swans ... a ? over that at the Hawks for mine. |

| Fair question 9" ... must admit to not really having a clue as to why I'm yet to be convinced, gut feeling maybe or the fact that I have seen therm in positions that they coulda played a game right out and made a good contest of it only to fall away in the second half and seem to lose confidence. As I say, they could well change my mind and by mid way through this year then I will make another judgement call on the Hawks. Thanks KO ... MATE ! |
