Re:BERNIE VINCE B.O.G. Reply to this message
well..nearly 12 months on, free?? does he class a good player yet?? i think so.. the proof is in the pudding..in top 10 for possession in the alf this year.
the snippers(essendon) payed him the biggest respect by trying to snipe him through the whole game and tag him hard..yet leave mccloed to run around unmarked!! so the bomber thought the kid was more damageing than the 300 game veteran..yet vince took all they could dish out and still have 28 touches and 11 clearances !!!
great effort last night and he had a great season..a smokey for the club champion and im sure he will go well in the brownlow!!

Bernie has finally pulled his finger out and begun the climb up from dudsville, he had a pretty good season although 8th or 9th in most categories is hardly setting the world on fire. He showed flashes of real ability but will need to continue his improvement next year to be considered a genuinely good player. So well done Bernie for proving my pre-season impression wrong, you've made Oddie as proud as a doting mum.

Don't you geddit adrian? Kenny is too faaarking slow! Imagine him playing at CHB against the like of St Nick. Who's spot would he take? AA FB Ben Rutten or AA CHB Nathan Bock? His game was best suited as a marking forward, body on body, but when the ball hit the ground....

Always liked Kenny, as honest a competitor as they come. Could take a contested mark and bring the ball to ground, but lack of pace and recovery let him down. Would have been value to the Bulldogs upfront this year because they would have had Johnson to play off him. Welsh was good for them but they needed a tall like Kenny rather than another middie forward like Welsh.

Re:BERNIE VINCE B.O.G. Reply to this message
ADELAIDE forward Ken McGregor has retired from AFL football despite having a year left to run on his contract.

The 27-year-old played 152 matches for the Crows after making his debut against Geelong in 1999.

He played nine matches in his first year, earning an AFL Rising Star nomination.

The versatile big man became a crowd favourite during his 10 seasons with Adelaide, proving a valuable asset with his ability to play at both ends of the ground.

He booted 114 goals during his career, with a career-high five coming against Richmond in 2004.

McGregor managed just seven matches in 2008 but did play his 150th senior game in round five – against Fremantle at AAMI Stadium.

He was a member of Adelaide’s pre-season premiership side in 2003, while only 11 Crows have played more games for the club.

Club chief executive Steven Trigg said McGregor had been a loyal servant.

“Ken has been a committed team player who has always put the club before himself,” Trigg said.

“He intends to play on with Woodville-West Torrens in the SANFL and we wish him all the best for the future, both on and off the field.”

not much point having contrasting opinions when those opinions or predictions are 99% of the time proven inaccurate as seems to be the case with the sulking bitter one.

So...you don't like him then?

At least he provides a contrast to the kid glove treatment the Crows get from most other quarters.

Re:BERNIE VINCE B.O.G. Reply to this message
freedirt...mcdermott has hardly said a good thing about crows since he was sacked. sure criticize when warranted , but this guy is clearly just bitter , he thinks he was deprived of a premiership or two , what he needs to realise is the prems came because of the decisions like sacking mcphurphett and others. also what qualifies mcphud to pick apart any football club , he had his chance to show what he can do as a coach and took his club from also rans to 12th in a 9 team competition only to once again get dragged away kicking and screaming like the big Sheila he is.

Re:BERNIE VINCE B.O.G. Reply to this message
long live McDermott and Wildy and Francou and Dittmar

these 4 are never afraid to tell it how it is and i wish KG and Cornes would p1ss off with their "oh no, you cant say that" about crows or port, mainly crows.
these 4 blokes should be permanently on 5aa and those other 2 "gooses" should be sacked today!

No surprise you don't like McDermott, he's one who's quite prepared to criticize the Crows when warranted, and we can't have that can we?

"Find of the season" is a bit much, but Vince is much improved...he needed to, as by his own admission he'd been lazy and going nowhere. Good on him.

oddie oddie oddie....which captain u talking about, mate???To suggested that bickley or roo had there sorry asses booted out...is comical oddie... roo is probably the best player the club has had there and bickley would have been most courageous!!
But whichever ex captian your talking about..he's probably right about bernie...maybe not the find of the season for us but defiantly in the top 3.i think the "ole porper" might just pip him at the post.
