i spoke to a mother of a crows player at work and asked her if they knew torney was getting delisted, the answer was it blew them away, they didnt see it coming.apparently torney and partner shattered, and rightly so.doughty can consider himself extremely lucky,my opinion only, and a few others.bode was a damn hard trier, pity about the injuries.the rest ,well their time was up.as for torney,i,like many others am dumbfounded.its a tough business isnt it.

hi port 1870 welcome back and i for one have missed you on these boards, it just hasnt been the same without you around chumly, i agree with u on the next 3 years and craigs excuse will now be "re-building" but we are the worst re-builders in football history so sit back and watch us get picked off almost every week,

orright, Sellar looks miles away from making the grade... hope I'm wrong but he looks like he could turn out to be another example of a wasted Crows 1st round draft pick. Regarding the Crows forward line, I suggested in the Personnel Changes thread they should look at Salter from the Eagles, looks a likely type and worth a punt.

The only shock really was Jason Torney. I knew he had a good year and the paper said he finished 9th in the B&F. Bode was always on a knifes edge and the Crows onviously ran out of patience. Perries knees are shot. He can hardly bend for the ball anymore and at best he was a solid player but mostly he was inconsistent with his best attributes his marking and contesting. The Crows missed Bodes contests in the forward line but they need a regular small forward who can kick goals too. McIntyre from North and Pfeiffer from Norwood just werent up to it.i will be interested to see the progress of the 17 year old from Broken Hill who got a call up from the rookie list and James Sellar who was heralded as a high draft pick at one stage. Comments in the paper last season said Sellar was learning what was required of an AFL footballer but others said his workrate at training was ordinary- a bit like John Meesen. Sellar was an outstanding junior but was hardly a world beater for Glenelg last season after showing some promise the season before. They will need Nick Gill to continue to improve and Trent Hentschel to quickly assert himself if the forward line is to produce anything. Kenny McGregor is solid but we need more than solid to produce winning scores.

I agree with Freedirt, Perrie was a trier but lacked consistancy up forward. I always thought that he would do a lot better in defence as he was a great mark and always tried hard but I suppose if injuries were getting the better of him then they've done the right thing. Wonder how bad Bode's injuries were, he was a fantastic player who tried his heart out ....hope he can make it somewhere else!

ne0n_dj, Perrie to replace Ricciuto for the captaincy? Is this your style of offbeat humour? He's a trier but inconsistent, with ordinary skills...and apparently now he's struggling physically, that would be the main reason they dumped him I'd say. I'd be surprised if another club goes for him.

i cant believe how fickle some so called supporters are!!!!!!!!!!! Who are these so called 3 "moronic Stooges. From where I sit Adelaide F.C. is in good hands.

Maybe the writer is describing his own inadequacies.

Hiya Buzz.....
I reckon the Crows won't make the 8 for about 3 years with the obvious rebuilding stance they have now declared. Trade week was slow for them and now they have declared their hand to rebuild through youngsters....That is not a bad thing, at least we all know what they are doing now. Mcleod, Goodwin and Edwards to all leave within 1-2 years will leave them a little short on the experience end but the mid term future will be better off for it.

i think the only shock was torney but we will not even make the 8 next year and the sooner we get some real football people running our beautiful crows rather than these 3 moronic stooges we have now then the sooner we will become a force to be feared, until then we will be easy pickings.

I agree, same with Bode. That was a shock. Iknow he spent a lot of time injured this year but he tries his little heart out. Someone else will get him and he will do great as will perrie. I suppose they had to do something as we all have our say when we don't do too well. Go the crows next year.

Ian Perrie was a shock! Reply to this message
Perrie was an absolute team player whom I thought would replace Ricciuto with the captaincy but to be delisted!! WOW!

Hopefully he choses to go on with his career as I'm sure someone like the Bulldogs would love to have him at CF..

Can anyone tell me the reasoning behind Perrie being dumped?
